루트 페터스(Ruudt Peters)의 장신구관과 그의 작품에 관한 연구

Abstract

이 연구는 루트 페터스Ruudt Peters의 장신구관과 장신구를 체계적으로 설명하려는 시도이 다. 이를 위해서 페터스 자신의 진술과 그의 비평가들의 생각을 토대로 그의 작품에 대해 구체적인 분석을 해보았다. 그 결과 그의 독특한 장신구관, 즉 장신구 재료에 대한 입장과 심미관, 작업 원칙 등이 드러나는데 그것은 다음과 같다. 그는 “금은세공가”로서 계획적인 “머리”보다는 작업하는 “손”에 비중을 두며, 장신구 재료에 있어서는 표현하고자 하는 내용 에 상응하는 재료의 물성적 측면을 강조하고, 장신구 착용자의 겉모습을 치장하는 “아름다 운 장신구” 보다는 그의 내면성을 보완해주는 장신구, 즉 철학적 메시지로서의 장신구를 만 든다. 영원한 아름다움을 표현하려는 전통적인 장신구에서 벗어나는 그의 장신구는 전통적 인 아름다움 보다는 오히려 추의 범주에 속한 형태들, 즉 “노화”, “허무”, “우연성”을 강조하 며, 이로써 현대 장신구의 일면을 보여주는 특이한 작품세계를 보여 준다;The main purpose of this study is to show the view and the ornaments of Ruudt Peters in a systematical way. The analysis has been done, based on the explanation of both Peter's and his critics'. As a result, we can find out his unique point of view on ornaments -- his taste on materials, aesthetic view and principles in working. They are as follows: as a "craftsman of gold and silver“ Ruudt Peters focuses on the "hands" that do the work, not on the brain which plans the works. As for the materials, he emphasizes a view material point corresponding to what he wants to express and makes ornaments as philosophical messages which make up for the internality of wearer rather than "beautiful ornaments" that decorate his or her external appearance. His ornaments, which are beyond the boundary of traditional ones trying to show eternal beauty, put emphasis on the things belonged to "ugliness" such as aging, nihility, fortuity and therefore show unique world of art which represents one characteristic of modern ornaments.
