선을 이용한 현대 장신구에 대한 연구 -선의 미적 특성을 중심으로-

Abstract

선은 전통적으로 대상물을 재현하는 표현수단으로서 순수미술의 보조적 역할을 하여왔는데 19세기말에 이르러 부터는 선이 재현의 수단에서 벗어나 독자적 표현으로 미술양식의 변화를 이끌고 있다. 특히 20세기 현대미술에서 선은 자율적인 요소로서 작가의 내적 체험을 드러내고 실험적 표현을 위한 수단으로 역할을 하고 있어 작가의 철학과 의도를 가장 직접적인 방식으로 제시해 주고 있다. 현대미술의 변화와 흐름에 영향을 받은 현대 장신구에서도 선은 단지 조형요소로서의 의미를 넘어 자율적이고 표현적 특성으로 시대의 생각이나 작가의 개인적인 정서를 담아냄으로써 장신구 디자인에 새로운 전기를 마련해주었다. 이러한 선이 현대 장신구에 활용되어 전통과는 구별되는 독특한 미적특성을 나타냄으로써 현대 장신구에 새로운 개념과 가치를 창출하고 있는데 이는 다음과 같이 요약된다. 첫째, 점, 선, 면의 순수한 형식에 기반을 두는 추상개념을 추구하여 인간정신을 강조하는 추상성, 둘째, 투명하고 가벼운 개방적 형태를 위한 공간성, 셋째, 간결미와 세련미의 현대적 감각을 표현하는 단순성으로 나타난다. 이러한 선장신구의 등장은 현대장신구가 새로운 예술매체로서 현대미술의 하나의 영역으로 받아들여지게 되는 계기를 마련하여 현대장신구의 위상정립에 크게 기여하였다.;Line has traditionally played an auxiliary role in pure art as a means of representing objects. Since the end of the nineteenth century, however, the line has been shifting from the means of representation and leading to the change of art style in its own expression. Especially, in the 20th century contemporary art, the line is an autonomous factor, revealing the inner experience of the artist and serving as a means of experimental expression, presenting the artist's philosophy and intention in the most direct way. In contemporary ornaments influenced by the changes and trends of contemporary art, the line has provided a new way of designing jewelry by embracing the thoughts of the times and the personal emotions of the artist in terms of autonomous and expressive characteristics beyond merely the meaning of formative elements. These lines are used in modern ornaments to create new concepts and values in modern ornaments by showing unique aesthetic characteristics distinguishing them from tradition. This can be summarized as follows: First, the abstraction that emphasizes the human mind by pursuing the abstract concept based on the pure form of point, line, and face. Second, it appears as a space for transparent, light and open forms, Third, simplicity expressing modern sense of concise charm and sophistication. The appearance of these line ornaments contributed greatly to establishing the status of modern ornaments with the opportunity to be accepted as an area of contemporary art as a new art medium.
