Abstract
This study aims to extract UX(User Experience) design elements and serve as basic data for age-friendly smart home UX design planning in future by analyzing services and needs preferred by smart home users(older people aged 65 and over). For this study, all data were collected from blogs, news articles, online cafes, Naver Q&A section, the whole scholarly information, web documents, Facebook, etc. using a big data analysis tool, ‘Textom’ and after refinement, text mining, sentiment analysis and topic analysis were conducted. Next, the frequencies of emotion words, positive words and associative words were extracted and visualized. This study targeted older people aged 65 and over, and the spatial scope of this study is smart home. The analysis result of Text Mining and LDA Topic Modeling showed a total of 100 design elements to be considered for seniors’ UX-based smart home: “Welfare, disability, health care, smart, life, development, wellbeing, coping, care, control, elder, sanatorium, body, generation, consideration, control, lighting, gloom, voice, network, facility, depression, interface, recognition, network, home appliances, satisfaction, safety, risk, health, help, design, communication, life, life quality, door, solitude, exercise, experience, improvement, indoors, environment, switch, ordinary life, protection, purpose, expansion, service, media, interaction, Internet of Things(IoT), sound, design, medical treatment, experience, dementia, treatment, technology, wellbeing, use, security, health, perception, use, prevention, emotion, management, digital, psychology, wellbeing, interaction, technology, connection, artificial intelligence, self-esteem, leisure, convalescence, gloom, designer, interior, product, sensor, security, disability, famility, disease, space, equipment, installation, care, enhancement, camera” It is expected that this study result can be used in studying smart home UX design guidelines or design plans for the elderly.
