요하네스 이텐 색채교육의 특징 및 창의성에 관한 연구 -국내 선행연구 고찰을 중심으로-

Abstract

인간은 다채로운 색의 향연 속에서 살고 있지만 이해가 부족하거나 효과적으로 활용하지 못하는 경향이 있다. 과학기술의 발달로 다양한 매체와 접하기 쉬운 차세대 학생들에 대한 체계적 미술교육이 중요하다. 이 가운데 체계적 색채교육의 시작이라고 볼 수도 있는 요하네스 이텐은 주목할 가치가 크다. 본 연구목적은 이텐의 색채교육에 대해서 진정한 의미를 고찰해보고 효율적인 미래 방향성을 제안하는 데 있다. 연구의 범위는 이텐의 저서 및 관련 서적과 RISS등을 통해 검색한 2000년 이후의 논문 중에서 이텐의 색채교육과 관련된 논문 6편이다. 연구 방법으로는 색채교육, 창의성, 요하네스 이텐에 관한 문헌조사와 더불어 이텐의 색채교육 관련 6가지 연구 사례에 대한 장단점을 상호 비교 조사분석방식을 활용하였다. 연구 결과, 6가지 선행연구는 이텐의 창의적이고 주관적 색채 경험에 집중했으며, 현재 학교 현장에 적용할 발전적 방안에 관한 내용이 대부분이었다. 그러나 실제 현장에서 적용한 실험연구는 한 개로서 미흡한 부분으로 지적될 수 있었다. 향후 색채교육의 방향으로서 첫째, 색채교육은 개개인의 잠재력과 창의성을 발달시킬 수 있어야 한다. 둘째, 객관적 원리와 주관적 경험이 조화를 이룰 때 창의성이 발현될 것이다. 기존의 기계적인 교육에서 벗어나 현시대에 필요한 창의적이고 전문화된 색채교육이 활발히 연구되어 현장에 적용되기를 기대해 본다. Human beings live in a feast of colorful colors, but tend to lack understanding of color or not to make effective use of it. With the development of science and technology, systematic art education for students in the next generation who are easily accessible to various media is important. Among them, Johannes Itten, who can be seen as the beginning of systematic color education, is worth noting. The purpose of this study is to examine the true meaning of Itten’s color education and suggest an efficient future direction. The scope of the research is four papers related to the color education of Itten among the papers since 2000 which were searched through Itten’s books and related books and RISS etc. As a research method, Color education, creativity, and Johannes Itten were conducted a literature survey. Also, the pros and cons of the six study cases related to color education in Itten were mutually compared and investigated and analyzed. As a result of the study, the four preceding studies focused on Itten’s creative and subjective color experience, and most of the contents were on the developmental measures to be applied to the present school site. However, the experimental studies applied at the actual site could be pointed out as insufficient. As the direction of color education in the future, first, color education should be able to develop individual potential and creativity. Second, creativity will be manifested when objective principles and subjective experiences are in harmony. It is hoped that creative and specialized color education needed in the present era will be actively studied and applied to the field, away from conventional mechanical education.
