인종주의와 코로나 바이러스 Ⅰ - 미국사에서의 연구 동향을 중심으로 -

Abstract

이 연구의 목적은 크게 두 가지이다. 첫째, 코로나바이러스(covid-19) 발생 이후 우리 사회에서도 심화 · 증폭되고 있는 인종주의(racism)가 우리의 문제라는것을 부각시키는 것이다. 둘째, 기존의 국내 인종주의 연구 성과에서 시사점을 얻고, 보다 적극적인 학문적 · 실천적 담론 확장의 계기를 만들기 위함이다. 이를 위해 이 글에서는 인종주의에 대한 그간의 연구를 서양과 미국을 중심으로 진행해온 연구자들의 성과를 메타적 차원에서 분석하고자 한다. 1장에서는 인종주의 연구의 중요성과 필요성을, 2장에서는 인종주의가 서구의 근대적 기획으로서 이데올로기이자 하나의 정치체제였다는 사실을, 3장과 4장에서는 미국에 대한 인종주의 연구에서 얻을 수 있는 시사점과 이후의 연구 과제를, 그리고 5장에서는 우리가 인종주의에 맞서 무엇을 어떻게 할 것인가에 대한 이야기를 할 것이다. 이를 통해 필자는 인종 관련 연구자들을 향한 감사와 더욱 적극적인 연구를 수행해야할 지적 책임을 요청하고, 모두의 좋은 삶을 숙고하는 계기를 만들어보고자 한다. The purpose of this study is twofold. First, it is to emphasize that racism, which is deepening and amplifying in our society, is our problem. Second, it aims to gain implications from the existing domestic racist research achievements and to create an opportunity for more active academic and practical discourse expansion. To this end, this article attempts to meta analyze achievements of researchers who have been conducting research on racism of Western and United States. In Chapter 1, the importance and necessity of racism research, in Chapter 2, the fact that racism was an ideology and a political system as a modern planning in Western, in Chapter 3 and 4, implications and suggestions from racism research on the United States and future research theme, and in chapter 5, we will talk about what we will do and how we will fight racism. Through this, I would like to thank researchers for their intellectual responsibility to conduct more active research, and to create an opportunity to ponder everyone’s good life.
