난민의 ‘문화적 사별’ 경험과 건강위기: 경기도 A지역 줌머인의 사례를 중심으로

Abstract

본 연구는 경기도 A지역에 재정착한 줌머 난민의 건강상태를 살펴보고 고국을 떠나 거주국에서 난민 인정을 받고 재정착하기까지의 과정에서 트라우마와 문화적 사별이 이들의 생존과 건강에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지를 학제적 연구를 통해 파악해보고자 했다. 의학적 조사결과 A지역의 줌머인은 정신건강과 관련이 있는 혈관경직도의 경우 약 절반가량이 높은 수치를 보였다. 정신건강 설문조사에서는 사건충격척도조사 결과 외상후 스트레스장애(PTSD)가 높은 수준으로 나타났으며 전체적으로 우울증도 중증도로 나타났다. 인터뷰 조사에서 A지역의 줌머인은 고국을 떠나 난민의 삶을 살다가 거주국에 재정착하는 단계를 거치면서 문화적 사별을 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 가족에 대한 과거 기억, 폭력과 죽음의 경험에 대한 회상, 생존자의 죄책감, 고국과의 분리에 대한 우려와 양가감정에서뿐 아니라 고국 가족과의 지속적인 통화와 송금, 비자혜택 유보를 통한 속죄의식 등을 통해서도 나타난다. 줌머인의 전통 행사인 보이사비 축제는 이들에 대한 일종의 공동체적 치유의 기능을 하고 있으며 구성원들은 행사의 준비와 참여를 통해 문화적 사별을 치유하고 트라우마에 대한 회복탄력성을 높이고 있다.;This research aims to study the health condition of Jumma refugees who have resettled in A area of Gyeonggi-do and try to understand how trauma and cultural bereavement affect their survival and health in the process of leaving their home country and receiving refugee approval in host country and resettlement from an interdisciplinary approach. As a result of the medical survey, most of the Jumma people in A area had the high level of arterial stiffness. In the mental health survey, they showed a high level of the post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) standard, and overall depression state was also severe. In the interview research, it was found that some Jumma people in A area experienced cultural bereavement and the Boisabi Festival, a traditional event of the Jumma people, functions as a kind of community healing for them.
