조은광 석사학위공연 “Fill the Night with Drama” 금관 5중주 편곡 분석

Abstract

본 논문은 석사과정 이수를 위한 석사학위공연 “Fill the Night with Drama”에서 연주한 곡들의 금관 5중주(Trumpet I, Trumpet II, French Horn, Trombone, Tuba) 편곡을 중심으로 분석한 것이다. 학부 및 대학원 과정에서 학습한 음악 이론을 바탕으로 편곡에서의 선율, 화성, 리듬과 대위법 등을 포함한 편곡의 수직 및 수평적 구조를 분석하여 편곡의 음악적 특징을 설명하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

석사학위공연에서 연주한 총 9개의 셋 리스트(총14곡)는 모두 드라마 OST로 기존에 발매된 음원들을 편곡하여 재해석하였다. 기존의 음원에서는 주로 밴드나 오케스트라위주로 구성이 되어있는데, 모든 곡들을 금관 5중주와 피아노, 드럼의 총 7개의 악기구성인 실내악 형식으로 전곡을 편곡하여 공연을 기획하였다. 본 공연은 1부와 2부로 나뉘어져 있는데, 1부는 스토리적인 흐름에서 시대적 흐름을 느낄 수 있는 곡 구성으로 조선시대(추노), 개화기(미스터 선샤인), 일제강점기(야인시대)로의 시대적 흐름을 담고 있으며, 2부는 현실에서 판타지로의 흐름으로 구성되어있다.|This study analyzes the arrangement of brass quintet (Trumpet 1, Trumpet 2, French Horn, Trombone, and Tuba) performed in “Fill the Night with Drama” which is Master’s Recital. The purpose of the study is to explain the musical characteristics of the arrangement by analyzing the horizontal and vertical structure including melody, harmony, rhythm, and counterpoint based on music theory learned in courses of undergraduate and graduate. Total 9 set lists (total 14 songs) performed in the master’s recital were reinterpreted by arranging the previously released as Korean drama OST. The original music is mainly arranged for bands or orchestras, and all songs for the recital were arranged in chamber style, a total 7 instruments, including brass quintet, piano, and drum set. This recital is divided into first and second stage, the first stage is composed of the songs understanding storyline and historical timeline – Joseon dynasty (The Slave Hunters), Blossoming season (Mr. Sunshine), Japanese colonial era (The Rustic period), and the second stage consists of the flow from reality to fantasy.
