Abstract
This study examined specifically the purpose and necessity of researching the development direction of performing works through modern dance by exploring examples of works using media media and suggesting the possibility of developing them in various ways. To this end, the 2020 Seoul International Performing Arts Festival, Deutsche Grammophone, BTS, and Hyundai Dance, which recently featured after Covid-19, mentioned the 2020 Young Choreographer Creation Performance, and the 2020 Korean Contemporary Dance Artist 12-person Exhibition. Daily life and economy have changed since the coronavirus epidemic-19. Telecommuting, which was a rare culture in Korea, was implemented, and office workers and students began using real-time online video applications such as Zoom. This also had a general impact on performing arts. Previously, performers and audiences communicated face-to-face, but after Covid-19, the difference was sharply changed to show and communicate with the work through media rather than conducting a performance face-to-face. The offline performance was conducted online. A number of private venues, national theaters, and large agencies have used online performances, and many performances, regardless of genre, are being performed through online video platforms such as YouTube Live Streaming and Naver Live. The 2020 Seoul International Performing Arts Festival, Deutsche Grammophone, BTS and Hyundai Dance, which screened dance, theater, and musical plays online for 16 days, recorded a total of 3,650 paid audiences. Pianist Cho Sung-jin, Korea's first Chopin Competition winner, performed online performances on YouTube through Deutsche Gramophone's online broadcast, and more than 48,000 viewers simultaneously watched the performance in real time, attracting more than 300,000 views. Finally, BTS has created a new performing arts culture with 2.24 million simultaneous users and a total of 50.59 million views in 191 countries. In addition, Hyundai Dance showed the possibility of a paradigm shift in the dance industry, with a total of 63,858 young choreographers' creative performances accumulating and 356,602 likes. The dancer's choreography was well received by the audience, saying it was also seen through media outlets with increased internal density without much movement. The 2020 Korean Contemporary Dance Writers Exhibition also received applause and cheers from the audience, and showed their communication with the audience. As such, the performing arts community, which is being replaced by "independent and online," has derived performances through YouTube streaming, Naver TV, and V-LIVE. In addition, the use of such media has become a major factor, not a secondary one, and we have concluded that changes in performance work must be made in line with these changes. However, this study has the following limitations: First, some of the modern dance pieces in Korea, which are actively being used in selecting works for analyzing works, were not selected to contain all the examples of using various media outlets. Second, it is limited to some fields and modern dance, not all genres in the field of performing arts, in studying performing works using media. Thirdly, it can be interpreted from various perspectives in the analysis of works, and it contains the subjective opinions of researchers. Fourth, this study did not conduct separate surveys and in-depth interviews with consumers who experienced real-time online performances. Accordingly, this study reveals that continuous research tasks remain in the future. At a time when non-face-to-face has become a daily routine, this paper has not selected some works that can be examples of performances using media media, but it is hoped that it will serve as a stepping stone to the development of performances by selecting and studying some cases using media in modern dance.| 본 연구는 현대춤을 통한 공연작품 발전 방향성을 연구하기 위해 미디어매체를 활용한 작품 사례에 대해서 알아보고 다방면으로 발전할 수 있는 가능성을 제시함에 목적과 필요성을 도출해내기 위해 구체적으로 분석하여 알아보았다.
