국ㆍ공립 현대무용단의 공공성 확대 방안에 관한 연구

Abstract

This study has the necessity and purpose to suggest a plan to expand the publicity of the National Contemporary Dance Company and the Daegu City Dance Company. The method of this study is to analyze the operating cases of the National Contemporary Dance Company and the Daegu City Dance Company, which have been established and are currently operating. As for the progress of the study, literature research for theoretical background and current status analysis were conducted to analyze the activities of national and public contemporary dance troupes. As a result, the necessity of practicing the publicity of national and public contemporary dance troupes was presented, and a plan for expanding the publicity in existing activities and a new method for expanding the publicity were presented. The plan for expanding the publicity of national and public contemporary dance troupes is presented as follows.

First, it is possible to conduct a choreographer discovery project and a performance activity that can expand opportunities to experience creative works of art. Second, it is necessary for national and public contemporary dance troupes to carry out citizen arts education activities to expand publicity. Third, as a new activity, in order for national and public contemporary dance troupes to expand publicity for social benefit, it is necessary to link with the local community. Fourth, cultural branding to expand the public nature of national and public contemporary dance troupes is a measure to build an excellent repertoire of national and public contemporary dance troupes in terms of cultural competitiveness. Fifth, in order to expand the publicity of national and public contemporary dance troupes, it will be possible to increase the benefits and utility to be provided to future generations through linking with local universities, and to seek ways to enhance cultural enjoyment. Sixth, in order to expand the public nature of national and public contemporary dance companies, it is necessary to establish a new contemporary dance group by local governments. Seventh, in the artistic aspect, it was suggested to operate a residence program to attract excellent foreign dancers, to select dancers without distinction of genre, and to induce creative activities for new performances by dismantling genres. For the development of local cultural contents, the development of local cultural dance works and repertoire reflecting locality were suggested. Lastly, to secure finance, collaboration with other local theaters and cultural foundations, combination of private organization subsidy and public subsidy, support group formation and local culture A method for securing finance through the commercialization of tourism content was presented.

Therefore, suggestions for follow-up studies related to this study are as follows. First, in order to expand the public nature of national and public contemporary dance troupes, a study on the policy basis in terms of culture and arts administration is needed. Second, a study to expand the publicity of national and public contemporary dance troupes needs a way to raise awareness about the publicity of contemporary dance. Third, research on the expansion of publicity of national and public contemporary dance troupes requires research on various approaches to securing finances based on future publicity expansion activities.

As described above, the expansion of publicity of national and public contemporary dance troupes is one of the most important areas of activity for new cultural experiences of members of our society living in this era. Therefore, in order to expand the desirable publicity in the future, it will be necessary not only to increase the number of national and public contemporary dance companies, but also to create an atmosphere for various activities.|한국은 현재 국ㆍ공립 현대무용단이 2개 단체가 창단되어 있다. 한국무용에 비해 수적으로 매우 적은 단체로 구성되어 있다. 1981년에 창단된 대구시립무용단은 2021년 현재 40주년을 맞이했으며, 2010년에 창단된 국립현대무용단은 2021년 현재 10년을 맞이하고 있다. 국립현대무용단이 창단되기 전까지 30년 동안 현대무용 직업무용단은 유일하게 대구시립무용단만이 존재하고 있었으며, 대구시립무용단이 현대무용계의 우수한 무용수들을 배출하는데 기여하는 바가 높았다. 따라서 사실 공공성을 실천하기에는 역부족이었으며, 현재도 2개의 단체만으로 우리 사회가 요구하는 공공성을 실천한다는 것은 환경적으로 매우 열악하다고 볼 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 현재 창단되어 운영되고 있는 국립현대무용단과 대구시립무용단의 운영사례를 분석하여 과연 공공성을 어느 정도 실천하고 있는가를 분석하여 향후 국ㆍ공립 현대무용단이 지향해야할 공공성 확대 방안을 제시하는데 본 연구의 필요성과 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 동시대의 시대정신을 작품으로 형상화하는 현대무용이 갖는 예술적 가치와 함께 사회적 가치를 재인식하고 공공기관으로서 직업무용단이 지향해야하는 공공성 실천을 위한 방안을 제시한다는데 연구의 의의가 있다. 연구의 진행은 이론적 배경을 위한 문헌연구와 국ㆍ공립 현대무용단 활동을 분석하기 위한 현황분석이었으며, 그 결과 국ㆍ공립 현대무용단의 공공성 실천의 필요성을 제시하고 기존의 활동에서 공공성 확대방안과 새로운 공공성 확대를 위한 방안을 제시하였다. 그 결과 국ㆍ공립 현대무용단의 공공성 확보를 위한 활동의 필요성은 다음과 같다. ① 예술적 실험의 측면에서 볼 때 외부 안무가 선정과정에 대한 개방성이 필요하다. ② 현대무용에 대한 미래세대까지 제공할 유익과 효용의 측면에서 볼 때 국ㆍ공립 현대무용단에서 단순히 문화체험을 통한 정서함양에서 끝나는 체험프로그램 운영만이 아닌 사회교육프로그램 운영으로 확대시킨다면 컨템퍼러리 댄스에 대한 공공성을 확대시킬 수 있는 새로운 방안을 마련할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. ③ 사회적 유익 제공의 측면에서 볼 때 국ㆍ공립현대무용단은 현재 2개 단체뿐이기 때문에 많은 지역과의 연계 프로그램을 통해 보다 많은 지역이 현대무용을 통해서 획득되어질 수 있는 사회적 유익성을 제공받을 수 있는 공공성을 확대시킬 필요성이 있을 것이다. ④ 문화적 향유권 신장의 측면에 볼 때 체험프로그램을 문화소외지역으로 확대할 필요성이 있으며, 찾아가는 프로그램의 확대가 필요하다. 이상과 같은 공공성 확대의 필요성을 토대로 국ㆍ공립 현대무용단의 공공성 확대방안은 다음과 같이 제시되었다. 첫째 기존의 활동에서 공공성 확대방안으로 국ㆍ공립 현대무용단은 공공성을 확대하기 위해 예술적 실험 영역에서 공공성 확대를 위한 활발한 창작활동으로 실험성 있는 창작 작품을 안무할 수 있는 안무가 발굴 사업과 창의력 있는 예술작품을 경험할 수 있는 기회를 확대시킬 수 있는 공연활동을 수행할 수 있다. 둘째, 기존의 활동에서 미래세대까지 제공할 유익과 효용과 문화향유력 신장을 위한 영역으로 국ㆍ공립 현대무용단은 공공성 확대를 위한 시민예술교육 활동을 수행할 필요성이 있다. 셋째, 새로운 활동으로 국ㆍ공립 현대무용단이 사회적 유익을 위한 공공성 확대를 수행하기 위해서는 지역사회와 연계가 필요하다. 지역사회와 국ㆍ공립 현대무용단이 협약을 통해 지역을 상징하는 콘텐츠를 개발하여 작품화하여 그 지역을 대표하는 작품을 창작하는 사업을 진행하는 것이다 넷째, 새로운 활동으로서 국ㆍ공립 현대무용단의 공공성 확대를 위한 문화브랜드화는 미래 세대에까지 제공할 유익과 효용과 사회적 유익을 위한 영역으로 문화경쟁력의 차원에서 국ㆍ공립 현대무용단의 우수한 레퍼토리 구축을 위한 방안이다. 다섯째, 새로운 활동으로서 국ㆍ공립 현대무용단의 공공성 확대를 위해 지역의 대학과 연계를 통해 미래 세대에까지 제공할 유익과 효용성을 높이고, 문화적 향유력 신장을 위한 방안을 모색할 수 있을 것이다. 여섯째, 국ㆍ공립 현대무용단의 공공성 확대를 위해 지방자치단체의 새로운 현대무용단체 창단이 필요하다. 현재 컨템퍼러리댄스를 전공으로 하는 국ㆍ공립 현대무용단은 단 두 곳이다. 사실 한국의 컨템퍼러리댄스의 공공성을 위해서는 역부족인 무용 환경이 아닐 수 없다. 이에 지방자치단체의 현대무용단의 창단이 시급하다. 이상과 같이 국 ㆍ공립 현대무용단의 공공성 확대방안에 대하여 제시하였다. 실제로 국 ㆍ공립 현대무용단의 공공성 확대를 위한 방안은 더욱 구체적인 방안으로 제시되어질 수 있을 것이다. 왜냐하면 더 많은 국민이 참여하고 소통할 수 있는 방안이 기획되어질 수 있기 때문이다. 다만 실질적인 운영과 재정적인 측면의 고려와 현실적인 측면의 고려가 필요하기 때문에 본 연구에서는 구체적인 방안의 제시에는 한계가 있었다. 향후 재정적인 측면의 분석이나, 행정적인 측면의 분석을 통한 보다 면밀하고 체계적인 운영방안의 모색으로 연구가 진행되어져야만 할 것이다.
