초등학교 학생을 위한 시조창 지도 연구

Abstract

국악의 다양한 장르 중에서 시조는 음악적 예술성과 문학적 가치를 함께 지닌 우리의 전통문화유산이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 시조는, 학교 교과과정 중 음악교과서는 제외되고 단지 국어교과서의 읽기 교육으로 단 몇 편 수록되어 있을 뿐이다. 시조가 한국문학 중 중요한 장르로서 그 가치를 평가받고 있기는 하나, 이를 효과적으로 지도하는 교육방식에 있어서 국악의 시조 장르를 간과한 것에서 초래된 결과라 사려 된다. 본 연구는 초등학교 교육 현장에서 시조를 짓고 부르기 지도 방안을 고찰하여 한국의 문학적 우수성과 국악의 이해를 효과적으로 점철시키고, 나아가 옛 선비의 풍모를 재현시키는 과정에서 인격도야의 선비정신을 심어줄 수 있음을 고찰해 보았다. 우리 민족의 시이며 음악인 시조를 복원시키기 위한 실험학습을 통해, 그 가능성이 충분함을 확인하였고 다음과 같은 제언을 제시하고자 한다. 첫째, 교과서에서 없앤 시조감상 부분도 되살리고 또 시조창을 직접 지도할 수 있도록 교과서 편성이 시급하다. 둘째, 교과서에 수록되기 전 단계에서라도 각급학교에선 “방과 후 교육”를 통해서 우리 시조창을 지도 보급하고 계승시켜나가야 한다. 셋째, 교과서에 시조창을 실을 때에는 오선보로 옮기지 말고 시조 악보 원형 그대로 살려서 정간보를 실어야 한다. 정간보를 통해 어렸을 때부터 우리 국악의 특징과 과학적인 악보의 이해, 그리고 시김새 등을 익혀 우리 음악의 아름다움을 터득케 해야 한다. 넷째, 우리 음악을 어렸을 때부터 익히게 함으로써 우리 민족적 정서를 키워주고 우리만의 독특한 문화를 접하고 향유하며 신장시켜 창조적인 방향으로 우리 문화를 키우고 발전시키는 원동력이 되게 한다. 다섯째, 우리 시조창을 지도할 수 있는 교사 양성이 시급하다. 각급학교의 음악담당교사 들에게 일정기간의 연수를 시켜 현장에서 실질적인 지도가 이루어질 수 있도록 해야 한다. 우리 민족의 문화유산인 시조가 문학과 음악으로 분리되어 그 가치가 반분되어 있음을 자각하고, 이를 다시 복원시켜 명실상부한 문학과 음악의 두 가지의 가치를 함께 지닌 문화유산으로 계승시켜나가야 하겠다. 그러기 위해선 시조창이 보급되고 활성화 되어야 한다. 이에 점차 사라져가는 우리 문화유산을 다시 복원시키기 위해선 무엇보다 어린 초등학교 시절부터 우리의 시조창을 교육 시켜야 한다.; Our Sijo consists of both cultural values and musical values at the same time. Sijo is an unique genre of traditional virtue that contains both musical artistic merit and cultural values. Nevertheless, it has been long that Sijochang has died away from music education and only few left in Korean text books for readings, which shows that it has abandoned its musical values maintaining the existence of only cultural values. This study investigated with the actual primary schools, to prove that the children can grow up developing characteristics of Sunbi(which means well educated person or gentlemen), by teaching them to compose and singing their own Sijos in the programs of reproducing Sunbis in the past. It was confirmed that the possibility is sufficient to restore the Sijo, our country's poetry and also musics by the practical education. And the followings are proposed. First, re-organizing of text books is impending in order to revive the erased Sijo appreciation section and also to be able to teach Sijochang directly in person. Second, even before it is started to be contained in the text books, it is necessary to try to propagate the teachings by having after-school-sessions. Third, it is also necessary not to transfer the notes into Western way but to keep the notes in our own way of music note. By doing this, children can get familiar with the characteristics and knowledge beyond the unique and scientific note of our Guk-ak from young ages so they understand the beauty of our musics. Fourth, by making them familiar with the musics, they can grow the cultural sentiment, meet with and enjoy our own unique culture. And they will become the driving motivation of growing and developing our culture in a creative directions. Fifth, we are in a seek of teachers who are able to educate Sijochang. It would be necessary for the music departments in all the schools to carry on a certain period of training. So that the practical education can come into life. We should realize that our precious cultural virtue has two separated values which are meant to be shown together in order to show a true beauty of Sijo, and carry on to redevelop Sijo to be the cultural virtue consisting of both musical and cultural values. In order to achieve this, Sijochang should be propagated and used widely. And before we try to restore the cultural virtue that has been disappearing slowly, we should start with young children by educating them with Sijochang. We should make them aware of the goodness that Sijo has and why it is necessary for our time, not only because it is precious part of the our culture.
