Abstract
최근 nano scale metallic cluster가 포함된 glassy matrix는 효율성 좋은 비선형 광특성 매질의 하나로 연구되고 있다. Nanostructured metal의 비선형 광특성이 증대되는 원인은 첫째 metallic nano structure에 의한 surface plasmon resonance에 기인한다. Surface plasmon resonance는 nano structure의 크기, 모양, 농도에 의존한다. 둘째, 투명한 유전 매질 내에서의 나노 구조 물질의 선형 및 비선형 광 특성의 local field 증대 효과에 기인한다.; Metallic nanoparticles show a strong surface plasmon resonance in the visible range. Surface plasmon resonance depends on the size, the shape andthe concentration of metallic nanoparticles. In this study, we investigated nonlinear optical properties of silver nanoparticles embedded in dielectric matrices. Nonlinear refractive index and absorption coefficient were measured by using open aperture and closed aperture z-scan measurement techniques which are simple way to get the nonlinear optical properties of materials. The nonlinear coefficients were measured as a function of the intensity of incident laser beam, the concentration of silver nanoparticles to the TiO2 matrix. At beam Intensity (I=25GW/cm2), β(nonlinear absorption coefficient) is zero. At beam intensity (I=103GW/cm2), β is 0.3×10-6cm/W. At beam intensity (I=351GW/cm2), β is 2.1×10-6cm/W Closed aperture Z-scan experimental, At low intensity(I=25GW/cm2), nonlinear refractivity(γ) is -2.6×10-5cm2/W, at high intensity (I=103GW/cm2), γ is 1.24×10-5cm2/W. A peculiar sign reversal of nonlinear refractivity was observed at a high intensity of incident beam.As the concentration of silver nanoparticles increased, the intensity at which the sign change occurred increased(. This was thought to be due to the fact that the thermal conduction was enhanced for the high concentration of silver nanoparticles.
