WiBro에 관한 특허와 표준화 동향에 관한 연구

Abstract

초고속 유선 인터넷 시장이 성숙된 상황에서 정지 및 이동 중에 언제, 어디서나 인터넷에 접속하여 고속의 인터넷 서비스를 제공받으려는 사용자의 욕구가 증대되었고, 서비스 접속의 편리성(Connectivity)과 유무선 통신 네트워크의 통합, 멀티미디어 서비스에 대한 요구로 새롭게 도입된 휴대인터넷 서비스인 WiBro는 정지 또는 이동 중인 가입자에게 언제, 어디서나 약 1Mbps 이상의 초고속으로 무선 인터넷 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 휴대 인터넷의 대표적 기술이다. 4G 이동통신의 핵심 기술로 대두되는 WiBro의 표준화의 목적은 시장성 및 경쟁력있는 기술 및 서비스의 확보와 원천기술의 보유를 통한 기술주도권을 확보한다는 취지에 있다. 본 논문에서는 기술 주도권 확보를 위한 이러한 WiBro 표준화 활동의 결과 및 앞으로의 전망과 함께, 이러한 표준화의 기반이 되는 WiBro 특허출원의 동향에 대한 분석을 논의한다.; As a high-speed wired Internet market has been increased, a need has been increased for the high-speed Internet service that can provide a moving device or a fixed device with a connection to the Internet, regardless of time and place. WiBro is a portable Internet service that meets the needs for service connectivity, a merging of wired and wireless communications networks, and a multimedia service, as well as a wireless Internet technology capable of providing a moving or non-moving subscriber with a wireless Internet service having a speed higher than 1Mbps regardless of time and place. A standardization of WiBro, which is a core technology of 4G mobile communications, is purposed to achieve a technology and service having a marketable and competitive powers, as well as retaining an original technology thereby taking a leadership in this field. It is discussed herein the trends and prospects in the WiBro standardization and WiBro-related patent applications on which the WiBro standardization is described.
