관계형 데이터베이스를 이용한 CAD 데이터의 관리와 응용

Abstract

네트워크를 통한 정보교환의 증가는 데이터 간의 호환성을 요구하므로, 데이터 관리 방식에 있어 기존의 파일을 사용하는 방법에서 데이터베이스 관리 시스템을 이용한 데이터 통합 관리 환경으로의 변화를 가속화 시켰다. 이는 데이터를 응용프로그램으로부터 독립적으로 관리할 수 있도록 할 뿐 아니라 데이터 관리의 일관성, 보안성을 보장하기 때문이다. 하지만, CAD 시스템으로부터 작성된 데이터는 일반적인 데이터에 비해 자료구조가 복잡하고 객체지향성이 강해 아직도 파일 기반 데이터 관리 환경에 머물러있다. 그로 인해 다른 시스템에서 접근과 조작이 어려우며, 활용 가능성에 비해 널리 사용되지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 CAD 데이터를 위한 개체-관계형 자료구조를 작성하고 이를 관계형 데이터베이스에 적용하였다. CAD 데이터를 각 요소 단위로 분할하여 저장하고, 필요에 따라 재조합하여 사용하는 방법을 제시하여 하여 형상모델 자료구조에 유연성과 확장성을 부여하였다. 이는 네트워크를 통한 정보교환 시 보안을 유지한 상태로 최적의 데이터를 공유, 교환할 수 있도록 한다. 또한 관계형 CAD 데이터베이스는 상용 관계형 데이터베이스 관리 시스템에 의해 운용되고, 표준언어인 SQL로 데이터에 접근할 수 있다. 따라서 CAD 데이터가 CAD 시스템 등의 응용프로그램에 의존하지 않고 독립성을 가질 수 있도록 하였다.; Requirement of data compatibility with widespread of information sharing through networks accelerates shift of data management method from files to integrated data management environment with DBMS; Database Management System. In general Data are guaranteed independence, integrity and security by DBMS. However, geometric models created with CAD system are tied-up still in files because of its complex and object-oriented data structure. Therefore it is not easy to be accessed by the other systems and limits its usablity. In this paper, Entity-relation data structure for geometric models is developed and saved in RDB; Relational Database. General RDBMS manages RDB for geometric model to be independent by SQL; the standard query language to data access. In addition, granulating a geometric model into lower levels is performed to allow flexibility and extensibility of CAD data structure through restruction according to their respective requirements. This increases CAD data compatibility and security during information sharing through networks.
