페미니즘을 주제로 한 텍스타일디자인 연구

Abstract

The Feminism is from the thought which the social recognition and custom, studying and the human rights inequality confronted the women as gender, that is wrong. It's the social reforming movement which get back the lost identity as woman, and emboss the narrow social value or the system about the woman so that make change of that, It has appeared of not only the politics, but also in the whole literature and the art around every culture. The Feminism is the one portion of the important place of the woman history, and it has appeared with new culture flowing. And it charges completely with the motive which gives an inspiration to new creation activity as one style of the art. Among those, because of the field of the textile design was the easy part for the woman gets near, the feminism activity happens actively in 1970's, many works has made by the feminist. They create their life and the experience as woman inside the work, this moves provide the subject which speaks about woman's social rights, and the feminism works are recognized as the superior work so that became the subject matter which gives an inspiration to another designers and the authors. Therefore this research presents not the existing style of the textile design, but the textile design of the new image, and expend the territory of the creation activity. It used the SPD(Surface Pattern Design)as the research method for design the pattern, and (Photoshop CS) as the computer graphic system for organization of the whole composition of the work and arrange of the image. From the introduction, it is said that the simple investigation about the woman and the past recognition about the sex of the woman, research the movement of the feminist for the overcome of that, how much degree value of it, then it will concern the research background and the purpose, method for the production of textile design works with feminism subject. In the main text, for the first, research of feminism history with the history and the concept about the feminism, and investigate the process of the feminism in the work with the recognition of the feminism of the contemporary art. And research of the concept and the classification about the textile design, and explain simply about the digital transfer printing which is used for the work. Also it made an analysis the example of the feminism appeared in the textile design with the classification of the three kind of subjects like homosexual code, androgynous, female ascendancy feminism, etc. through the analysis of feminism appeared in the contemporary art. And with the base of this theory, it produced the textile design work with the three of themes which is classified above. At the conclusion, it is written about with this research, it could be the opportunity of the infinite possibility which will be able to express a culture contents positively as the female artist who reflects the 'social characteristic', and the result of this research could be the new motive of the creation activity. With that conclusion, it draw the things like after words. First, homosexual code design explain the social stratum which depressed from the society for the reason that they're different from the 'major' people, it explained the paradox image with their features in the feminine flower pattern as the plant pattern. Second, it's the work which explained the androgynous as the social and the culture feminism theory that based on 'gender' than 'sex' about the difference of the man and the woman, it made a work from the individual exposed the male image and the artificial flower pattern of the female image, so that it composed the man and the woman and for the design. Third, the female ascendancy feminism explain the woman who dreams a self realization shake off the complex against the male as the gender, it is the method which put the pictorial feminine illustration on the androgynous style pattern, and it provided the form which going to over the sexual desire. With result above, it became the reliable that the feminism could be many motive for the textile design, and the element which could create the new design. Therefore, with the basis of this research, I hope the textile design will be created with the novelty vision, so that the development of the design will be accomplished continuously.; 페미니즘은 여성의 성에 대한 사회적 인식과 관습, 학습, 인권불평등에 대해 잘못되었다는 사고에서 출발하였다. 잃어버린 여성의 정체성을 되찾고 여성에 대한 편협한 사회가치나 제도를 부각시켜 변화시키려는 사회변혁운동으로 정치뿐 아니라 문학, 예술 전반에 걸쳐 모든 문화에 나타나고 있다. 페미니즘은 여성 역사에 중요한 자리를 차지하고 있는 한 부분이며 이것은 새로운 문화의 흐름으로 나타났다. 또한 예술의 한 장르로 새로운 창작활동에 영감을 주는 모티프로 완전히 자리매김하였다. 그 중 텍스타일디자인 분야는 여성이 근접하기 쉬운 부분이었으므로 1970년대 페미니즘 활동이 활발히 일어난 시기에 페미니스트들에 의해 많은 작품이 나왔다. 그들은 작품 안에 여성으로서의 삶, 경험을 자신의 관점과 감수성으로 풀어내었고 이런 움직임은 사회적으로 여성의 인권에 대해 이야기하는 소재를 제공하였을 뿐 아니라 이런 페미니즘 작품들은 뛰어난 작품으로 인정받음으로써 꾸준히 지금까지 다른 디자이너와 작가들에게 영감을 주는 소재가 되었다. 이에 본 연구목적은 텍스타일디자인의 기존의 디자인이 아닌 새로운 이미지의 텍스타일디자인을 제시하며 창작 활동의 영역을 넓히고자 하였다. 연구 방법으로는 SPD(Surface Pattern Design)을 이용하여 패턴을 디자인하였으며 컴퓨터 그래픽 시스템인 포토샵(Photoshop CS)으로 작품의 전체적인 구도를 잡고 이미지를 정리하였다. 그리고 작품 출력 방법으로는 디지털 텍스타일 프린팅(Digital Textile Printing)을 사용하였다. 서론은 페미니즘에 대한 간단한 고찰과 여성의 성에 대한 과거 인식에 대해 이야기하고 이를 극복하려는 페미니스트들의 움직임과 여성의 역사에서 페미니즘이 어느 정도 가치가 있는지 살펴보고 페미니즘을 주제로 한 텍스타일디자인 작품 제작을 위한 연구 배경 및 목적, 방법 등을 이야기하였다. 본론은 먼저 페미니즘에 대한 개념과 기원 등을 통해 페미니즘의 역사를 살펴보고 현대예술의 페미니즘 고찰을 통해 작품 안에 페미니즘이 어떻게 나타났는지 분석해보았다, 그리고 텍스타일디자인에 대해 개념과 분류를 통해 알아보고 작품 제작을 위해 사용된 디지털 전사 프린팅에 관해 간단히 설명하였다. 또한 현대예술에 나타난 페미니즘 분석을 통해 동성애적 코드, 앤드로지너스, 여성우위 페미니즘 등 세 가지 주제로 분류하여 텍스타일디자인에 나타난 페미니즘 사례에 대해 분석해 보았다. 그리고 이 같은 이론을 바탕으로 앞에서 분류한 세 가지 주제에 따라 텍스타일디자인 작품을 제작하였다. 결론은 이 연구로 ‘사회성’을 반영하는 여성예술가로서 사회, 문화적 내용을 적극적으로 표현할 수 있는 무한한 가능성의 기회가 될 것이며 본 연구의 결과가 창작활동의 새로운 모티프가 되고자함에 관해 기술하였다. 그 결과 다음과 같이 도출되었다. 첫째, 동성애적 코드 디자인은 ‘다수’의 사람들과 다르다는 이유로 사회적으로 핍박을 받고 있는 동성애자 계층을 표현한 것으로 식물문양의 곡선을 살린 여성스러운 꽃 패턴에 이들의 모습을 담아 역설적인 이미지로 표현하여 제시하였으며 둘째, 남성과 여성의 차이를‘sex’보다는 ‘gender’에 중점을 두는 사회문화적 페미니즘 이론인 앤드로지너스를 표현한 작품으로 남성의 이미지를 나타내는 개체와 여성의 이미지를 나타내는 사실적인 꽃 패턴으로 하나의 작품을 만들어 남성과 여성의 조화로 구성하여 디자인하였다. 셋째, 여성우위 페미니즘은 남성의 성에 대한 열등감을 떨쳐내고 자아실현을 꿈꾸는 여성을 나타낸 것으로 앤드로지너스적인 패턴 위에 회화적인 여성 일러스트를 넣는 방법으로 성에 대한 욕구를 뛰어 넘고자 하는 모습으로 제시하였다. 이상의 결과로 텍스타일디자인에 페미니즘은 수많은 모티프가 될 수 있으며 새로운 디자인을 만들어 낼 수 있는 요소임을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러므로 본 연구를 바탕으로 페미니즘을 활용한 텍스타일디자인이 보다 참신한 시각으로 창작되어 지속적으로 디자인 개발이 이루어지길 바란다.
