간호사의 노인간호 교육요구에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 노인의료복지시설 및 병원에 근무하는 간호사를 대상으로 노인간호 관련 교육요구를 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사 연구이다. 연구대상은 서울시와 경기도, 인천시에 소재하고 있는 노인의료복지시설과 병원을 포함한 총 5곳에서 노인을 간호하는 간호사 300명을 대상으로 2008년 4월 2일부터 4월 25일까지 설문지를 배부하여 회수하였으며, 총 281부를 분석 대상으로 하였다. 연구에 사용된 도구는 이경화가 개발한 노인간호 교육요구 측정도구로 4개 영역, 총 44문항으로 이루어져 있으며, Likert식 5점 척도를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS/WIN 12.0 프로그램을 이용하여 전산처리하였으며, 빈도와 백분율, 평균과 표준편차, t-test와 ANOVA로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 노인의료복지시설 및 병원에서 근무하는 간호사의 노인간호 교육요구를 조사한 결과 총점 176점 만점에 평균 114.15점으로 나타났다. 영역별 평균의 결과는 ‘노인 건강문제’가 2.80점으로 가장 높았으며, ‘노인 간호이론’ 2.63점, ‘노인 간호과정’ 2.60점, ‘노인 간호기술’ 2.44점 순이었다. 각 영역에서 가장 높은 점수를 나타낸 문항은 노인 간호이론영역에서는 ‘노인의 보건 의료 정책’, 노인 간호기술영역에서는 ‘피부간호(욕창간호법)’, 노인 건강문제영역에서는 ‘신경계; 치매, 언어장애, 마비, 근위축, 부동’, 노인 간호과정영역에서는 ‘호스피스 간호’로 나타났다. 대상자의 일반적 특성에 따른 교육요구는 연령이 25세 미만에서 가장 높게 나타났으며, 직무관련 특성에서는 현 근무지에서 근무년수가 1년 미만이 가장 높게 나타났다. 현재 근무시설 형태에 따른 교육요구는 노인전문요양시설, 노인전문병원, 병원 순이었다. 이상의 연구 결과를 통하여 임상경력과 현 근무지에서 근무경력이 짧을수록 교육요구가 높음을 알 수 있었으며, 근무시설 형태에 따른 교육요구가 다름을 알 수 있었다. 결론적으로 노인간호의 질적 향상을 위하여 노인을 간호하는 간호사의 임상경력과 근무시설 형태에 따른 노인간호 실무교육 프로그램이 개발되어야 할 것이다.; The purpose of this study is a descriptive survey to identify for investigating gerontological nursing education needs of nurses employed in medical well-fare facilities and hospital. The subjects in this study were 281 nurses who worked in four medical well-fare facilities and one hospital in Korea who agreed on the purposes of the survey. The Instrument used for this study modified an geriatric nursing education needs questionnaire developed by Lee, Kyung-Hwa(2005). Questionnaires contained 44 questions on gerontological nursing education needs, which is divided into four areas; based on 5 point Likert scale, gerontological nursing theory, gerontological nursing skill, geriatric health problem and geriatric nursing process. The data were collected from April 2, 2008 to April 25, 2008, and SPSS 12.0/PC program was used to conduct the statistical analysis. The results of this study are as follows; 1. The mean of score for gerontological nursing education needs in nurses were 114.15 on total score of 176. 2. Out of the four areas of nursing needs, the mean of score was the highest for gerontological nursing education needs of 'geriatric health problem' that was 2.80(± .66) and the lowest for 'gerontological nursing skill' was 2.44(± .72). 3. According to the result of analysis on gerontological nursing education needs, in terms of the nurses' general characteristics statistically significant difference was showed under 25 years age who was the highest. According to the nurses' job characteristics was significantly highest for education needs that under one year worked in present workplace and significant difference was showed each different kinds of the facilities. 4. The results of this study have limitations in specific education programs applied. Thus, we need to develop gerontological nursing education programs as consider nurses' characters of clinical career and types of facilities for the elderly.
