'외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어'교수요목 개발 방안

Abstract

본 연구는 외국인 근로자들의 일상생활과 직업 활동을 위한 한국어 교재 개발의 필요성에 주목하고 '외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어' 교수요목을 개발하는 데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 국내에 체류하고 있는 외국인 근로자들은 일상생활과 업무 수행을 위한 한국어 교육이 어느 학습자 집단보다 필요하나 그들을 위한 교육 과정 및 교재 개발은 매우 부족한 상황이다. 그러므로 외국인 근로자들의 요구와 특성이 반영된 한국어 교수요목을 개발하는 것은 외국인 근로자를 위한 교재 발간의 지침을 제공하므로 중요한 의미를 지닌다고 할 수 있다. 본고는 '외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어' 교수요목 개발을 위해 다음과 같은 과정을 거쳤다. 1장에서는 '외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어' 교수요목 개발의 목적과 필요성을 알아보았다. 연구 대상은 단순직과 전문직 외국인 근로자가 모두 포함되며 국내 외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어 교육 과정과 교재의 부재를 들어 '외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어' 교수요목 개발의 필요성을 제시하고 연구 내용과 방향을 제시했다. 2장에서는 첫째로, 외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어 교육의 특성을 알아보았다. 외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어 교육은 일반 목적과 직무 수행 목적의 두 가지 학습자 요구가 있다는 점이 외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어 교육의 특성이 됨을 알 수 있었다. 둘째로, 외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어 교육의 현황을 알아본 결과 외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어 교실에서 외국인 근로자 대상의 한국어 교재를 사용하지 않는 점을 알 수 있었다. 셋째로, 선행연구를 검토하여 외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어 교육 연구에 대한 진척상황을 파악하였다. 3장에서는 '외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어' 교수요목 개발을 위한 기초 조사로 외국인 근로자용 교재를 분석하고 설문조사를 통해 학습자의 요구를 파악했다. 외국인 근로자용 교재는 4종에 불과하였으며 4종을 분석한 결과 일반목적 교재와 차별화가 되지 않거나 단계 구분을 고려하지 않는 등의 문제점이 나타났다. 또한 학습자의 요구를 파악하기 위해 설문조사를 한 결과 직무 수행과 실생활 및 가정생활에서 필요로 하는 한국어를 배우기 원하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 위의 실태 조사 및 요구 조사를 통해 나타난 외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어 교육의 문제점을 밝히고 개선 방안을 제시했다. 4장에서는 위에서 실시한 작업의 결과를 바탕으로 '외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어' 교수요목을 개발하였다. 외국인 근로자들의 특성과 여건을 고려하여 일상생활과 직무 수행에 필요한 한국어를 핵심만 담아 초, 중, 고급의 단계별 교수요목을 완성했다. 5장에서는 연구의 결과를 정리하고 본 연구가 외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어 교수요목을 개발함으로써 국내 외국인 근로자를 위한 한국어 교재 제작의 지침을 마련했다는 데에 의의가 있음을 밝혔다.; This study is concentrates on the necessity to develope Korean textbooks for foreign workers with regard to their life and jobs. The main objective of this study is to develop a Korean educational syllabus. Foreign workers in Korea need Korean education for life and jobs more than the other Korean learners' group, but the development of courses for Korean education and textbooks for foreign workers' is insufficient. So, developing a Korean educational syllabus which reflect foreign workers' needs and characteristics is important because it sets a high standard for textbooks for foreign workers. This study followed the ongoing progress for developing Korean educational syllabus for foreign workers. In section 1, I researched the objective and necessity to develope Korean educational syllabus for foreign workers which contain blue color workers and white color workers. And I suggested the way and progress of this research. In section 2, I researched the characteristics of Korean education for Foreign workers. The characteristics of Korean education for Foreign workers show that foreign workers have a needs language skills for general purpose for life and the special purpose for jobs in Korean education. And I researched Korean classes for foreign workers. And I discovered that they did not use the existing textbooks for foreign workers. And also I studed existing researches in this field, I discovered it was limited. In section 3, I analyzed existing textbooks for foreign workers' and I found there was no difference between Korean textbooks for students and workers. And I discovered there was only one textbook at elementary level and no textbooks for intermediate and advanced. And also as a result of survey, I understood foreign workers wanted learning Korean for job and life and also family. In section 4, I developed Korean educational syllabus for foreign workers from the results of researches I did. I completed Korean educational syllabus for elementary and intermediate and advanced for foreign workers, considering their characteristics and circumstances. It contained the essential of Korean language for foreign workers' job and life. Finally In section 5, I summarized the results of this study. This study is meaningful because it sets the high standard for developing a Korean educational syllabus for Korean textbook for foreign workers.
