Maurice Ravel의「Jeux d'eau」에 대한연구

Abstract

모리스 라벨(Maurice Ravel, 1875-1937)은 드뷔시(Claude Debussy, 1862-1918)와 함께 인상주의 음악의 대표적인 작곡가이다. 인상주의 음악은 다양한 화성을 통하여 새로운 음색과 음향을 만들었으며, 이전과는 다르게 자연현상이나 사물에서 소재를 찾아 순간적인 느낌을 곡으로 표현했기 때문에 음의 색채와 감각을 중요시하였다. 라벨의 음악적 특징은 두 가지로 분류 되는데 인상주의적 경향과 신고전주의적 경향이다. 그 중 인상주의적 경향이 나타난 작품「물의 희롱(Jeux d'eau)」은 그의 초기 작품으로 인상주의적 기법에 고전적 스타일을 더한 작품이다. 이 곡에서 나타난 고전적 스타일은 형식적인 면에서 두드러지며, 그 형식은 3개의 주제를 가진 변형된 소나타 형식이다. 또한 이 곡에서 라벨은 리스트(Franz von Liszt 1811-1886)의 「순례의 연보(Annees de pelerinage)」속의 「에스테장의 분수(Les jeux deaux a la villa deste)」나 「샘가에서(Au bord dune source)」에서 볼 수 있는 물의 모습을 건반위에 찬란하게 묘사하였다. 이렇게 물의 모습을 나타내기 위해 그는 2도 음정의 아르페지오나 3음이 없는 공허 5도, 7도, 9도 화음을 병진행 하거나 불협화음을 사용하였다. 또한 선율도 반음계적인 진행을 많이 사용하고 온음 음계와 5음 음계를 사용하여 모호한 분위기의 인상주의 음악을 만들었다. 「물의 희롱」은 그의 초기작품으로 새롭고 인상주의적 영향이 잘 나타나있는 곡이다. 또한 인상주의적 틀 안에서 고전적인 형식이 라벨의 독창적인 작곡기법으로 조화를 이루며 나타나고 있다. 이렇듯 이 곡은 그의 여러 가지 특징들이 잘 나타나 있는 곡이며, 그의 새로운 작품경향의 시작을 보여준 작품으로 중요한 위치에 있다 말할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 「물의 희롱」을 분석함으로써 라벨의 음악적 성향과 작곡기법을 좀 더 깊이 있게 연구하였다.; Maurice Ravel (1875-1937), together with Achille Claude Debussy(1862-1918), represents impressionistic composers, who created new tones and sounds from a variety of harmonies. Ravel emphasized the color and sense of tones as he focused on finding motives from natural phenomena and objects and expressing what he felt about the motifs into music instantaneously. Ravel’ music can be said to have 2 musical characteristics: impressionism, neo-classicalism. His early musical piece of 「Jeux d'eau」, which shows a strong impressionistic feature, is a combination of impressionism and classicalism. Especially, the musical form of this piece, a modified sonata form with 3 themes, is highly classical. This piece, Ravel describes the water in 「Les jeux deaux a la villa deste」 or 「Au bord dune source」, both of which are in the 「Annees de pelerinage」 of Franz von Liszt (1811-1886), brilliantly on his keyboard. To describe the water, he used arpeggios, paralleled fifth, seventh and ninth chords and used dissonant chords. Also, he mainly used the chromatic scale with regard to the melody while creating an impressionistic musical piece of dreamy atmosphere by taking the whole tone scale and the pentatonic scale. 「Jeux d'eau」 in the first work of Ravel. But this work shows that his new composition technique and under the influence of Impressionism.
