한국 대학 연극학과 입시 실기시험의 현황 연구

Abstract

언론보도에 따르면 연극영화과가 청소년의 대학 희망학과에서 높은 순위를 차지하고 있다고 한다. 그러나 이러한 현상에 반하여 한국의 교육여건상 연기에 관한 체계적인 교육은 대학에 입학하고서야 비로소 시작된다. 이와 같은 연극 교육구조의 특수성으로 인하여, 우리나라에서 배우양성의 과정은 보편적으로 < 선행 교육기관 - 대학 - 현장 > 으로 이어지게 된다. 그러므로 수험생들이 대학에 진학하고자 연기교육을 처음으로 접하게 되는 선행 교육기관은 중요한 기능을 수행하게 된다. 20여 년 전, 연극영화과가 개설된 대학은 4개 대학에 불과했지만 현재에는 연극(관련)학과가 70여개로 늘어난 현실에서 국내의 연기자 시장은 수많은 졸업생의 수요를 모두 감당할 수 없게 되었다. 이런 상황에서 선행 교육기관은 연극(관련)학과의 졸업생들에게 손쉬운 취업의 장이 되었다. 기하급수적으로 늘어난 지원자와 맞물려 사설 입시학원을 비롯한 선행 교육기관이 그 수를 헤아릴 수 없을 정도로 많아지게 된 것이다. 현행 입시 실기시험 제도 하에, 각 대학에서 획일화된 실기시험을 요구하는 이상, 선행 교육기관의 교육 패턴은 배우의 양성이라는 장기적인 목적을 갖고 연기훈련의 기초를 다져주기 보다는 대학에 입학시키는 단기적인 목적에 치중할 수밖에 없게 된다. 더욱 큰 문제는 각 대학마다 입시 실기시험 시스템의 차별성이 없다보니 2학기 수시가 시작되는 9월부터 전문대학의 입시가 끝나는 다음해 1월까지 수험생들은 반복된 내용으로 실기시험을 치르게 되는 소모적인 현상이 벌어진다. 연극(관련)학과의 교수들은 부정방지차원이라는 명목 하에 자신이 가르칠 학생을 선발하는 것이 차단된 상태로 교육인적자원부에서 정한 순환심사 제도에 따라 수험생들과 마찬가지로 여러 대학을 부유하게 되는 문제점들이 있다. 현행의 유형화되고 획일화된 입시 실기시험 평가방식에서 벗어나 각 대학에서 추구하는 교육목적과 배우를 양상하기 위한 훈련 과정에 입각한 다양한 입시 실기시험 시스템이 개발되고 시행된다면 대학마다 고유한 특성과 차별화가 생길 것이며 이로 인해 선행 교육기관에서는 배우훈련에 있어서 기초적인 훈련과정에 보다 충실히 수행할 수 있을 것이다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 대학의 연극전공 교육이 그 선행 교육기관과 올바르게 연계될 수 있도록 하기 위한 초기적 단계로서, 획일화 되어있는 제한된 입시 실기시험의 방식과 유형에 따른 문제점들을 고찰 한 후 연극예술의 참된 종사자들을 키워낼 수 있는 새로운 입시 실기시험 시스템을 찾아보고자 한다. 현행 입시 실기방식과 유형을 살펴본 후에 각 대학의 연극(관련)학과 교수를 비롯하여, 입시학원의 강사들, 연극(관련)학과의 재학생들과 졸업 후 현재 배우로 활동 중인 사람들을 중심으로 하여 그들이 지적하는 현재의 실기 입시전형 시스템의 한계와 문제점을 인식하고 그에 따른 대안들을 연구 하였다. 관행처럼 진행되어 오던 기존의 입시 실기시험 시스템이 바뀌려면 현실의 여건에 따른 어려움이 산재해 있을 것이다. 그러나 교육부와 각 대학 연극(관련)학과의 교수들부터 연극교육의 특수성을 인식하고 배우를 양성해낸다는 거시적인 안목으로 수험생들에게 적합한 새로운 입시개선안을 찾아 대학마다 고유한 특성을 살릴 수 있는 다양한 입시 실기시험 방식이 정립되어야 할 것이다.; According to current Korean media, the preference for a dramatics major is highly ranked. In addition to this phenomenon, because of Korea's educational system, systematic education starts after entering college. This makes Korea's actor training system more like ['pre-dramatics school' - 'majoring dramatics in college' - 'Act']. This process makes the pre-dramatics school, first school for the examinees, very important for lots of examinees. Twenty years ago, there were only 4 university with a dramatics major, but now it has increased to 70 schools making the market demand high for graduates of this major. This has made the pre-dramatics schools really popular for the graduates looking to get a job after graduating and is the reason for the resulting increase in pre-dramatics schools. As each university wants the examinees to take standardized test, the pre-dramatics school's purpose became not teaching the basic of the act but just making the examinees get good grades to enter the college. The bigger problem is there is no distinction for each school test, making examinees to take lots of similar tests again and again. This inefficient system only makes universities make money. If they change the standardized test into test that each university prefer then that will make each university unique and distinct which will make the pre-dramatics school more like school where they teach basic acting. This study is based on the ideas of several professors from different universities, actors and teacher's from pre-dramatics schools. They concluded the first step to relate the pre-dramatics schools and universities is checking the standardized tests and add or replace some parts of test that they need or not. There is going to be difficulties of reality to change standardized test at once. But the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development as well as universities should have long term plans for the unique and quality of the test which will find examinees ability more easy.
