Web Application for Database Communication

Abstract

XML and its services can be seen as an outcome of work on distributed information systems over web application architectures. XML and related technologies are here to cope with the problems of service synchronization and composition. These days many web applications are depending on XML documents that can be understood by the other parties and applications that wish to do communication, which requires their agreement on the meaning and structure of the elements that are contained in those XML documents. This thesis shows benefits that XML brings to the field of web applications. Normally databases are accessed using direct connection and direct command. This thesis describes a new approach to communicate with databases, which can be accessed remotely and used by single or multiple web applications. This thesis focuses on how a database is accessed by shared connection modules and variables and how communications can be done using XML as a middleware in between database and web application.
