Abstract

Interleaving is a key component of many digital communication systems due to its good performance to guard against burst errors. Therefore, deinterleaving has also been more and more important. Detection of the interleaver parameters is the first step of deinterleaving. Interleaver period is one aspect of all the interleaver parameters. In this thesis, we only discuss the detection of interleaver period. We will propose a new algorithm to blindly detect the interleaver period in noisy channels. This new method is based on the previous research and the difference between them is that the previous one only can be used in noiseless channel. The simulation results will show that the modified algorithm represents good performance in a noisy channel.
