Abstract

This thesis studies the mythology in W. B. Yeats's poems. It is because mythology is one of the key elements in his poetry, and without understanding it, the readers will find it difficult to understand his poetry itself. Yeats became familiar with Irish mythology living in Sligo, where he heard and learned many stories. When he wrote poetry he made much use of the tales.
