A floating breakwater is a simply moored floating structure on the surface in order to reduce wave energy. For this reason, it can be constructed quickly independent of depth and taken economical and environmental advantages to circulation of water under the structure different from a gravity type breakwater. On the contrary, domestic research on floating breakwater has been only carried out theoretically. Therefore, the further substantial research is necessary for commercialization of a floating breakwater. In this study, the hydraulic model tests were carried out to suggest the design data for constructing of a pontoon type floating breakwater in the near future. It was performed in a two-dimensional wave flume to find out the effects of structure draft and size on reflection and transmission coefficient. Moreover, energy dissipation coefficient was calculated for evaluating the performance of the pontoon type floating breakwater by structure size. As a result of hydraulic model test, reflection and transmission coefficients were showed high performance in deep wave (kh ≥ π) and draft which was 20 % of water depth. It showed 0.5 ~ 0.7 of energy dissipation coefficient at the wave period of under 5 sec that was converted into a prototype condition.-
