지역문화축제를 활용한 프로젝트 기반 미술교육 지도방안 연구

Abstract

현대의 미술교육은 다양한 매체의 등장, 철학적 흐름, 교육 패러다임의 변화에 따라 교육의 학습 내용과 방법이 다양화되었다. 상황과 맥락이 고려되지 않는 객관주의적 진리와 학습은 폐쇄적이라는 비판을 받고, 교사와 학생 간 상호작용 관계 속에서 학습자가 주체적으로 학습하며 자신에게 유용하며 가치 있는 지식을 만들어나가는 방식으로의 전환을 가져왔다. 지식기반 사회의 21세기형 미래 사회를 능동적으로 개척하는 ‘글로벌 창의인’으로 육성하기 위해서, 교육의 목적은 학생의 개별적 능력과 특성에 맞춘 지식을 전달하고, 학생은 주도적으로 지식체계를 조직해야 한다. 이와 같은 현대 사회의 교육에 대한 요구와 학습자의 필요에 효과적인 학습방법이 곧 ‘프로젝트 기반 학습’이다. 본 연구의 목적은 프로젝트 학습에 대한 사회적 인식을 높이고 인간의 삶을 변화시키는 실천적 힘과 사회적, 교육적 효과, 현사회의 원활한 흐름과 소통을 가능하게 하는 지역문화를 새롭게 인식하는데 역점을 두고자 한다(김혜진, 2010). 이러한 연구 목적에 따라 본 연구에서 설정한 연구 문제는 다음과 같다.

첫째, 프로젝트 기반 학습이 미래의 미술교육에 적합한가? 둘째, 프로젝트 기반 학습에 지역문화축제가 유용한가? 셋째, 프로젝트 기반 미술 학습 지도안을 제작할 수 있는가?

이러한 연구 문제를 해결하기 위해 먼저 프로젝트 기반 학습을 이해하고, 지역문화축제를 활용한 학습의 기본 원칙을 정립하기 위해 프로젝트 기반 학습과 관련한 연구논문, 연구보고서, 학회지, 워크숍 자료집, 단행본, 인터넷 자료 등 다양한 종류의 관련 문헌 연구를 통해 고찰하였다. 이를 통해 지역문화축제를 활용한 프로젝트 기반 학습의 이론적 속성을 도출하고 지도안을 작성하였다.

다음은 본 연구에서 나타난 결과이다. 프로젝트 기반 학습은 학습자의 능동적, 주도적, 탐구적, 협동적, 통합적 발달을 끌어내어 미래의 미술교육이 지향하는 교육 방향과 일치한다. 그리고 지역문화축제를 바탕으로 한 삶과 연계된 지역문화는 학습자를 자극‧ 몰입시킬 수 있어 프로젝트 활동에 대한 관심을 지속‧ 심화하도록 한다. 지역문화축제는 지역공동체 형성, 지역문화나 지역사회의 이해, 다문화교육, 전통문화의 교육과 현대적 계승이라는 교육적 가치를 가진다. 프로젝트 기반 학습을 통해 학습자는 자주적인 학습 태도를 기르며, 창의적인 다양한 사고력의 발휘 과정을 배우고, 문화인으로서 지역의 문화를 향유하고, 자국의 문화에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 서로 다른 문화를 존중하고 협동하는 세계인으로서 성장할 수 있다는 의미를 지닌다. 나아가 학교의 자율성이 강화되고, 활발한 교외 협력이 지원되며, 문화 자원을 활용하는 체계적인 정책을 수립하고, 학부모와 지역사회의 관심과 지지가 바탕이 된다면 프로젝트 기반 학습은 더욱 효과적으로 운영할 수 있게 될 것이다.| Contemporary Art Education has been changed and diversified learning content and form according to the emergence of a variety of media, social·philosophy changes, and new paradigm in education, therefore the nature of 'Knowledge' has been changed 'Objective' to 'Subjective'. 21st century is 'Knowledge Based Society' requires learners should have abilities to configured his own knowledge with self-directed. For this reason, assumed that the most effective learning method is ‘Project Based Learning’ of such a contemporary and society’s urgently needs and requirements for the learners. This study's project is based their own culture, so learners are able to 'flow'.

For this purpose, the questions were set on the basis of relevant literatures and prior studies as follows:

First, Is the Project Based Learning right for the future of art education? Second, Is a Project Based Learning useful in Local festivals? Third, Can create Art education plans for the Project Based Learning?

In conclusion, Project Based Learning changed learning attitude in self-directed, learning process of creative thinking, enjoyment of local culture as citizen. And based on the understanding of their historical and regional culture as may respect the different cultures. According to this study, Project Based Learning improves the ability of human as self-directed‧ process‧ independent‧ exploratory‧ cooperative‧ integrated‧ holistic. Therefore learners are able to grow as a co-operative world citizen. And using local festivals can make conjunction with learner’s real-life. If learners can associate with real-life, they ‘flow’ and it will continue during learning. Local festivals have educational value such as understanding of local culture and community, regional identity, other cultures, from the traditional to modern culture education. Project Based Learning can be applied to these various educational value, and create a project teaching-learning plan in Art education.

Furthermore, Project Based Learning will be more effectively, If supported the expanding the autonomy of schools, utilizing the local culture resources with systematic support and official policy, local community cooperation, interest and support of parents.
