Abstract
현대사회는 인간과 환경의 조화로운 공존이 삶의 필수적인 요소로 부각되며 점차 친환경 중심으로 변화하고 있다. 이러한 친환경적 접근에 대한 관심으로 인간과 환경의 공존을 추구하는‘에코’라는 용어와 개념이 주목 받고 있다. 18C 후반 산업혁명부터 시작된 급격한 산업화로 환경오염문제가 대두되었고 불균형한 발전으로 소외된 생명들에 대한 문제가 발생했다. 환경오염문제와 소외된 생명에 대한 문제는 점차 사회적 문제로 확대되어 현대 사회는 무엇보다 생태환경의 균형이 중요해 졌다. 이러한 시대적 흐름은 디자인 분야에서도 강조되어 생태적 균형을 바탕으로 환경과 생명의 공존을 추구하는 에코디자인이 새롭게 정의되고 있다. 에코디자인은 환경과 생명이 함께 살아가는 디자인에 초점을 둔다. 에코디자인은 제품의 생산 및 구매, 사용과 폐기까지 이르는 전 과정에서 생길 수 있는 환경피해와 에너지 소비를 줄이는 환경 친화 디자인이다. 또한 그 범위가 넓어져 폐기물을 재활용한 예술 작품, 환경과 생명에 대한 재인식과 환경 파괴에 대한 경각심을 자극할 수 있는 제품이나 예술 활동 또한 에코디자인에 포함 할 수 있다. 다시 말해 에코디자인은 인간과 환경의 조화로운 공존을 추구하는 디자인 활동을 의미 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 이러한 에코디자인에 기초한 디자인교육 방안을 제시하여 학생들이 환경과 생명을 바탕으로 하는 사회적 문제에 대한 경각심과 비판적 안목을 형성하는데 목적이 있다. 친환경적 제품 제작하는 것을 넘어, 자신과 환경, 그리고 미래까지 고려할 수 있는 디자인교육으로 미래의 디자이너이자 소비자인 학생들의 인식의 성장을 이끌어 낼 수 있다. 본 연구의 내용에서는 빅터 파파넥의 디자인 사상을 바탕으로 현대사회의 새로운 경향과 에코디자인의 관계를 통하여 에코디자인의 정의와 형성배경을 살펴본다. 또한 에코디자인의 목적과 특성을 통하여 에코디자인의 현재를 알아본다. 이를 통하여 에코디자인 교육의 필요성을 지속가능발전교육과 연계하여 살펴본다. 에코디자인의 다양한 사례연구에서 교육적 가치와 활용가능성을 토대로 고등학교 수업에 적용할 수 있는 에코디자인 수업 프로그램을 제시해 교육 현장에서 실천 방안을 모색하였다. 본 연구가 결론으로 제시하는 에코디자인 교육 프로그램은 현대사회에서 환경과 생명의 조화로운 공존을 생각하는 에코디자인의 특성을 바탕으로 개발 하였다. 학생들은 본 수업을 통해 환경과 생명, 그리고 사회를 하나의 관점에서 바라보고, 이러한 조화로운 공존을 위해 디자인을 활용하여 참여할 수 있다. 나아가 학생들은 현재의 사회적 문제에 대한 비판적 사고와 문제해결능력을 키워 환경과 생명의 조화로운 공존을 위해 필수적으로 고양해야 할 에코디자인적 사고를 향상 시킬 수 있다. | Harmonious co-existence between humans and environments emerged as an imperative element of their life in today's society and the society is changing toward eco-friendly society. The term and definition of 'Eco' that seeks co-existence have been attached importance due to the attention to this eco-friendly approach. Because of rapid industrialization started from the industrial revolution of the second half of the 18th century, environmental pollution and some problems of living things occurred that were alienated resulted from the unbalanced development. The problems had a strong effect on the society of the day and the importance of balance of ecological environment increased. This periodical trend is also stressed in a design field and that influenced on the change of the definition on Eco-design which pursues co-existence between environment and life. Eco-design focuses on the harmony of environment and life. The design refers to eco-friendly design for the purpose of diminishing environmental damage and consumption of energy that may take place from the production and purchase of goods to their usage and disposal. In addition, art works recycled from wastes or art activities that arouse attention to re-awareness of environment and life and environmental pollution can be also included in the design. That is, the design means design activity that seeks harmonious co-existence between human and circumstances. Thus this project has an intention of forming a sense of alarm and critical views on social problems based on circumstances and life by presenting the methods of design education based on the eco-design for students. The project examines the necessity of eco-design education with relation to sustainable development education and it finds practice method in a classroom by showing an instruction program used eco-design that applied to lectures of a high school based on educational value and using possibility of a number of eco-design. The program, as the conclusion of this project, is developed on the basis of the characteristic of eco-design that seeks harmonious co-existence between surroundings and life in today's society.
