시각적 문해력(Visual Literacy) 신장을 위한 교사 발문 중심 미술 감상‧비평교육 프로그램 개발

Abstract

미술 감상과 비평교육을 통한 시각적 문해력의 신장은 시각적 정보의 중요성이 나날이 커지고 있는 이 시대에 필연적으로 나타난 사회적 요구이다. 따라서 시각 문화를 학습의 중심 제재로 삼는 미술 교과에서는 이 같은 요구를 적극 수용하여 학습자의 시각적 문해력 신장을 위한 노력을 할 필요가 있다. 특히 미술 감상과 비평은 시각 이미지 또는 미술작품에 대한 학습자들의 시각적 인지능력과 비판적 수용능력을 계발하기에 적합한 영역이기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 교사의 발문을 중심으로 시각적 문해력 신장을 위한 미술 감상․비평교육 프로그램을 개발하여, 현대 사회를 살아가는 학습자들이 수동적인 정보의 수용자가 아니라 능동적이고 비판적인 시각 정보의 주체로 성장하는 것을 목표로 한다. 학습 내용은 고등학생을 대상으로 2009년 개정 교육과정에 근거하여 구성하였다. <중략> 종합하자면, 연구 결과 시각적 문해력 신장을 위한 교사 발문중심 미술 감상‧비평교육이 학습자들이 미술 감상에 관하여 긍정적인 태도를 형성하는 것을 확인할 수 있었고, 교사의 발문이 학습자의 적극적인 수업참여를 유도하여 작품을 더욱 창의적이고 다양하게 해석하게 할 수 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 적절한 발문을 활용하였을 때, 학습자들의 시각 이미지에 대한 문해력이 신장되었다는 것을 의미한다. 결과적으로 본 논문에서는 교사의 발문이 미술 감상‧비평교육에서 있어 매우 중요한 학습자 사고의 확장의 도구로 사용될 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러므로 효과적인 미술교육을 위해 다양한 발문 중심의 교육프로그램에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어져야 할 것이다.|The importance of visual information is consistently increasing in this era.
