A Study on the User Interface Design of Mobile Banking Applications in Turkey

Abstract

This study examines user interface design features of mobile banking applications in Turkey by focusing on the use of colors as an effective tool to enhance visual aesthetics and usability in interface design. This study is an observation of current Turkish mobile banking applications in terms of their success in satisfying user expectations and needs through design. The presented study is mainly based on literature review, analysis of user interface designs, and online questionnaire results. The first chapter explains the current situation of mobile banking applications in Turkey, while the second chapter reviews several theories and concepts related to user interface design and user experience design. The last section of the study supports the literature review by analyzing eight mobile banking applications and evaluating the data obtained from an online questionnaire. The results give valuable insights into the practical impact of user interface design, user experience, and visual aesthetics. The study also extends the understanding of how interface design elements can affect users’ perception of visual aesthetics and usability.|Bu çalışmada, kullanıcı arayüz tasarımındaki görsel estetik ve kullanılabilirliğin önemli bir öğesi olan renklerin kullanımına odaklanarak Türkiye’deki mobil bankacılık uygulamalarının kullanıcı arayüz tasarımının incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Çalışma günümüzdeki Türk mobil bankacılık uygulamalarının tasarım açısından kullanıcıların beklentileri ve ihtiyaçlarını karşılamada ne kadar başarılı olduklarına ilişkin araştırmalar içermektedir. Bu tez temel olarak literatür taraması, kullanıcı arayüz tasarımlarının değerlendirilmesi, ve veri analizi üzerine kurulmuştur. Birinci bölümde öncelikle Türkiye’deki mobil bankacılık uygulamalarındaki son durum gözlemlenmiştir. Ardından, çeşitli makaleler ve akademik çalışmalardan yararlanılarak kullanıcı arayüz tasarımı ve kullanıcı deneyim tasarımı ile ilişkili çeşitli teorilere değinilmiştir. Son bölümde ise Türk bankaları arasından seçilen sekiz bankanın mobil bankacılık uygulamaları arayüz tasarımları incelenmiş ve online anketle toplanan veriler doğrultusunda kullanıcıların görüşleri değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları kullanıcı arayüz tasarımı, kullanıcı deneyimi ve görsel estetik hakkında değerli bilgiler vermektedir.
