파괴적 혁신과 기업의 전략적 방향 모색에 관한 연구

Abstract

Recently, disruptive innovations come to be realized in several industries and understanding of the importance of them is going on proliferation. Especially, China's low-end disruptive innovations have been proven to be a powerful breakthrough to catch the better position in the global economy and Korean companies face the condition where they should have the aggressive response against the disruptive innovations. Even though a lot of studies have dealt with the disruptive innovation, it is very seldom to see the mutual win-win strategies between leader and follower of the industry regarding the disruptive innovation. In this paper, to determine the disruptive innovation phenomena in the industry, we introduce an assesment flowchart designed by ourselves on the basis of the evaluation framework by Hang. Also, we discuss the factors on success and failure in the disruptive innovation and propose a win-win strategy between leader and follower for the mutual success under the disruptive innovation focusing the automotive industry, with the theory of disruptive innovation by Christensen. | 최근 파괴적 혁신 기술이 여러 산업 분야에서 등장하여 파괴적 혁신 기술에 대한 이해와 중요성이 널리 확산되고 있다. 특히 중국 기업의 약진 이면에는 저가형 파괴적 혁신 기술의 위력이 현실로 입증되고 있으며 파괴적 혁신 기술에 대비한 한국 기업의 적극적인 대응 체계가 필요한 상황이다. 이러한 배경을 바탕으로 이 연구에서는 자동차 산업의 파괴적 혁신 기업의 성공 요인과 기존 기업의 대응 실패 원인을 실증 분석하고 더 나아가 파괴적 혁신에 대응하는 기존 기업의 대응 전략을 탐구하고 분석하여 파괴적 혁신 기업과의 상생 전략을 모색하고자 한다. 이는 기존의 연구가 기업의 한 측면만을 보고 연구가 진행되었다면 두 기업의 상생 발전과 시장의 균형적인 발전에 역점을 두었다는 점에서 차별성을 두고자 한다. 본 연구의 방법으로는 파괴적 혁신 여부를 평가할 수 있는 평가 Flow chart를 고안하여 파괴적 혁신 기업의 잠재 가능성을 우선 확인하였고 이를 바탕으로 파괴적 혁신 기업과 기존 기업의 실증 사례를 대입하고 분석하여 새로운 사실을 찾아내고 검증하는 방법을 시도하였다. 본 연구의 내용으로 다음과 같은 시사점을 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 파괴적 혁신 평가 Flow Chart를 고안하여 파괴적 혁신 기업의 잠재 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 파괴적 혁신은 단일 기업뿐만 아니라 산업 전반에 걸쳐서 나타나는 산업 생태학적 현상이고 파괴적 혁신 기업과 기존 기업 간의 실증 비교를 통해 유의한 공통점을 발견할 수 있었다. 셋째, 실증 사례를 통해 파괴적 혁신 기업의 성공 전략과 기존 기업의 대응 전략을 비교 분석하였고 이를 통해 궁극적으로 파괴적 혁신 기업과 기존 기업의 상생 전략을 논의하였다.; Recently, disruptive innovations come to be realized in several industries and understanding of the importance of them is going on proliferation.
