- Abstract
- The agricultural area has been expanded since the 19th century, and its impact on environment and ecosystem also incurred. Especially, agricultural losses such as eroded soils, nutrient and organic matters move to the aquatic environment. Its response to environmental change preserved in sedimentary organic matters in the lake system. Lake Soyang has been experienced an expansion of agricultural area since the 1990s. To study its impact on the sedimentary organic matter in Lake Soyang, the stable carbon and nitrogen isotope and glycerol dialkyl glycerol tetraether (GDGT) were investigated in sedimentary organic matters that from surface sediment, core sediment and soils from watershed. The results indicate that terrestrial origin organic matter dominated in the upper part of the lake
while aquatic origin organic matter dominated in the lower part of the lake. Before the 2000s, forest origin organic matter mainly influenced to the lake. However, the effect of
farm origin organic matter has been increased according to the expansion of the agricultural area and its response appeared in both bulk and molecular parameters.
