맥락적 인터뷰를 활용한 플라스틱 쓰레기 문제 인식 및 개선에 관한 연구 - 매장 내 일회용 플라스틱 컵 규제를 중심으로 -

Abstract

환경 문제의 주범인 플라스틱 쓰레기 문제 대국민 인식 정도를 확인하고, 플라스틱 쓰레기로 비롯되는 환경 문제의 심각성에 대한 사회적 담론을 끌어내는 데 목적이 있다. 매장 내 일회용 플라스틱 컵 규제가 적용되는 공간 내에서 서비스디자인 도구인 맥락적 인터뷰를 활용하여 이해관계자들을 인터뷰한 뒤, 환경문제에 대응하는 사람들의 행동 동기를 도출한다. 연구결과 건강에 대한 관심도가 높을수록, 시간적·경제적으로 여유로울수록 규제를 긍정적으로 생각했으며 적극적으로 플라스틱 쓰레기 문제에 대응하려고 하였다. 특히, 현재보다 미래 가치를 더 높게 평가하는 사람일수록 전반적인 환경 문제를 심각하게 인지했고, 환경 문제 해결에 필요한 미래 비용을 높게 평가했다. 플라스틱을 사용하면서 얻는 경제적 합리성보다 환경보호 가치를 선도하면서 다른 사람들보다 더 나은 사람임을 인정받고자 하는 욕구가 전 지구적 지속 가능성에 유의미할 수 있음을 발견했다.

The purpose of this study is to identify the degree of public awareness of plastic waste problems, which are the main cause of environmental problems, and to draw social discourse on the seriousness of environmental problems resulting from plastic waste. In this study, ‘contextual interviews’ is used as a service design tool. I interview stakeholders within the space covered by disposable plastic cups in the store to derive motivation for people to respond to environmental problems. The more health-conscious, the more time and economy free, the more positive people thought about regulation and the more willing they were to actively respond to plastic waste issues. In particular, stakeholders who value the future more highly than they do today were more acutely aware of the overall environmental problems and highly evaluated the future costs needed to address the environmental problems. I found that the desire to be recognized as a better person than others by leading the value of environmental protection over the economic rationality gained from using plastics can be significant to global sustainability.
