This paper examines how two contemporary Western movies, <Hell or High Water> (2016) and <Logan> (2017) counter the current dominant ideology of America, and simultaneously internalize the conservatism. The two movies criticize American myth which lost its validity by deviating the background, character, and private/public values that Western movies have used conventionally. However, both movies seem to return to conservatism by exposing a common unconsciousness toward the patriarch system and the next generation. Consequently, as a sign of Trump regime launching, <Hell or High Water> which combines American society dominated by the financial crisis of 2008 and the Western genre, and <Logan> which combines Marvel Hero movies with Western genre criticize the contemporary America and they bear the conservatism ultimately.en_US
