도교 문학에 나타난 생태 여성주의

Abstract

본고는 도교에 나타난 여성 담론을 살피고 도교문학을 생태 여성주의 관점에서 접근함으로써 도교가 갖는 의미에 대해 생각해 본 것이다. 먼저는 도교와 여성과의 관련성에 대해 살펴보았다. 『귀장역(歸藏易)』의 주음(主陰) 사상이 노자의 『도덕경』으로 수용된 결과 『도덕경』은 여성을 높이는 내용이 많았다. ‘곡신(谷神) - 현빈(玄牝) – 고요함(靜) – 부드러움과 약함(柔弱) – 물(水)’ 등을 여성 개념과 관련해 분석해 보았다. 도교는 여성이 도(道)이며 강함과 단단함을 이기는 지혜의 원천이라고 말한다. 도교의 여성은 남성을 이해하면서 여성성을 지켜나감으로써 모든 것이 흘러드는 골짜기가 된다. 남녀의 차별을 반대하고 자연과 인간의 통합을 이루려 한다는 점에서 도교의 여성 담론은 생태 여성주의와 통하는 지점이 있었다.도교의 여성 존중과 주음(主陰) 사상은 도교 문학에 수용되었다. 이에 따라 『태평광기』를 중심으로, 도교 문학에서 여성의 독립성과 주체성이 어떠한 양상으로 펼쳐져 있는지를 생태 여성주의의 관점에서 살펴보았다. 먼저, 도교 문학에서는 여성이 세계를 지배하는 우두머리로 나타났다. 도교의 여선들은 스스로가 초월적인 능력을 터득하고 권력을 갖는다. 주도적으로 사건을 해결해 나가며 정사에 참여하고, 리더로서의 역할을 훌륭하게 감당한다. 둘째, 도교의 여선은 남편보다 뛰어난 능력을 갖고 주체적이고 독립적인 모습을 보여준다. 남편 밑에서 순종하는 유교의 여성상과 비교할 때 도교의 여성상은 더욱 빛난다. 셋째, 도교의 여선은 적극적인 구제 활동을 펼치는 사회인의 면모를 보인다. 이들은 수동적인 여인상에 갇히지 않고 높은 지적 교양과 사회 활동 능력을 갖추고 자기완성을 추구해 나갔다.도교의 여성 존중 정신은 오늘날의 남녀평등을 실현해 가는데 지혜가 된다. 도교의 생명, 여성, 자연에 대한 존중과 배려의 정신을 구체적으로 이론화하여 오늘날의 생태계 위기를 해결하는 디딤돌이 되어야 하리라 본다. This writer would not only proceed to tracing a feministic discourse to Taoism, but to examining eco-feministic features found within its literary editions. Second to none attention centers on the relationship between Taoism and Female. Tao Te Ching influenced by Juem(主陰) thought from Gwijangyeok(歸藏易) tends to praise females. It brings forth feministic characteristics to be assessed in this article, such as ‘Gog-sin(谷神), Hyeon-bin(玄牝), Go-yo-ham(靜), Bu-deu-leo-um-gwa yag-ham(柔弱), and Mul(水).’ In Taoism does feminity embody Tao itself as a original wisdom with strength and firmness. She as like a valley(Gog-sin(谷神)) embraces male chauvinism without losing her beauty, which melts away any discrimination between male and female to reach an integrating pivot of human beings and nature, so called an eco-feminism. Another feature to be mentioned is Taoist-attention to feminism as well as its uncritical acceptance of Juem thought. It causes this writer to trace a feministic selfhood and identity in Taoist literary to Taepyeonggwanggi.Firstly, Taoist literary depicts female as a governor over the world. Female-sage obtain omnipotence without any help, which enables her to make through various political hazards. Therefore, the world accepts her leadership. Secondly, female-sage overcomes her male-partner in all abilities. She manages all the issues regardless of her partner’s interruption. What Taoism addresses concerning female seems to despise a descent feminism under a male chauvinism found in Confucianism. Thirdly, she initiates social-rescue activities, by which she consummates her intelligence and social influence.Taoist-attention to feminism would be an ideal wisdom for contemporizing a gender equality. Furthermore, Taoist-obsession into life, female, and reverence of nature, if when rationally theorized, could contribute to answering for eco-crisis nowadays.
