새로 찾은 다산의 제3 『견월첩(見月帖)』에 대하여

Abstract

본고는 다산 정약용이 대둔사 승려인 혜장(惠藏)에게 준 시문을 쓴 『견월첩(見月帖)』을 소개하는데 목적이 있다. 지금까지 2종의 『견월첩』이 공개되었는데, 이번에 새롭게 발굴한 제3 『견월첩』 역시 다산이 혜장에게 준 글을 다산과 다산의 아들인 정학연이 친필로 쓴 것이다. 여기에는 모두 8편의 작품이 수록되어 있다. 이중 문집에 수록된 것은 혜장에게 준 시 3수 뿐이고, 나머지 5편의 작품은 문집에서 누락된 알려지지 않았던 작품들이다. 그 내용은 혜장과의 교유를 보여주는 시 3편과, 혜장의 3 제자를 위해서 써준 호게(號偈)가 있다. 그리고 승려 모윤의 탑명(塔銘)이 있다.다산은 1805년 10월에 아들 정학연을 시켜서 7편의 글을 쓰게 한 후, 이것을 혜장에게 선물로 주었다. 다시 9년 뒤인 1814년 9월 18일에 끝에 승려 철경에게 준 호게를 추가로 다시 썼다. 혜장이 죽은 뒤에 철경의 부탁을 받고 써준 것이다. 혜장의 제자에게 써준 3편의 호게는 다산이 혜장 뿐 아니라 그 문하의 제자들과도 긴밀한 관계를 유지했음을 보여준다. 이 3편의 글은 의미 전달 방식이 몹시 흥미롭다. 특별히 모윤의 탑명은 이제껏 알려지지 않은 흥미로운 내용을 담고 있을 뿐 아니라, 글에 임하는 다산의 정직한 태도도 인상적이다.다산의 불교 관련 문장은 지금도 계속 발굴되고 있다. 이번 견월첩의 발굴과 소개를 통해 다산과 불교의 관계에 대해 우리는 지금보다 더 넓은 전망을 얻을 수가 있다. 견월첩은 이것 외에도 몇 종이 더 있을 것으로 추정된다.The purpose of this paper is to introduce “Kyeonwol-Chup 見月帖,” in which is a poem written by Dasan Jung Yak-yong to Haejang, a monk of the Daedun temple. Until now, two kinds of “Kyeonwol-Chup” have been revealed, but the third “Kyeonwol-Chup,” was also handwritten by Dasan's son, Jung Hak-yeon. Here, all eight works are recorded. Only three poems given to Hyejang were in Dasan’s literary collection, and the remaining five works were missing. The contents include three poems that show the connection with Hyejang and Hoge (a description of the monk’s name meaning 號偈), which was written for the three disciples of Hyejang. Furthermore, there is an inscription of the monk Moyun.In October 1805, Dasan asked his son Jung Hak-yeon to write seven articles, and gave it to Hyejang. Nine years later, on September 18, 1814, he rewrote an additional Hoge to monk Chulkyong. After Hyejang died, Chulkyong asked Dasan to write it. The three works written by Hyejang's disciples show that Dasan maintained a close relationship with Hyejang and his disciples. The meaning transmission method is very interesting in these three articles. Especially, the inscription of monk Moyun not only contains interesting contents that have not yet been known, but the honest attitude of Dasan’s writing is also impressive.Buddhism-related texts of Dasan are still being discovered. Through excavation and introduction, we get a wider view of the relationship between Dasan and Buddhism. We can estimate that there will be several more relevant aspects besides those detailed in this paper.
