「萬德寺高麗八國師閣上梁文」攷

Abstract

본고는 「만덕사고려팔국사각상량문(萬德寺高麗八國師閣上梁文)」을 소개하고, 고려 8국사와 만덕사의 인연, 만덕사에 팔국사각이 들어선 시기와 경과, 그리고 상량문의실제 찬자가 다산 정약용임을 밝힌 글이다. 고려 8국사의 위패를 모신 고려팔국사각을만덕사에 건립하면서, 8국사의 자취를 기리고 그 경위를 적은 내용이다.다산 정약용의 주도로 『만덕사지』의 편찬이 완성되면서 잊혀졌던 만덕사 고려 8국사의 존재가 새롭게 알려졌고, 팔국사각은 이에 발맞춰 만덕사의 새로운 도약을 선언하는 상징적 건물로 자리매김 되었다. 상량문은 유서 깊은 법화도량으로서의 만덕사의 위상을 대내외에 선포하는 선언문적 성격을 띤 글이다.『만덕사지』는 1813년 작업을 시작해서 1816년에 완성되었고, 상량문은 이듬해인1817년 3월에 지어졌다. 팔국사각은 1817년 2월에 기공하여 5월에 준공되었다. 8국사의 존재는 『만덕사지』를 통해 처음 알려졌고, 이 책의 저술은 전적으로 다산 정약용의주도 아래 진행되었다. 상량문 또한 철경 응언이 지은 것으로 되어 있으나, 다양한 근거에 바탕하여 다산 정약용이 대신 지은 것임을 밝혔다.This paper refers to 「Manduksa Koryeo Palguksagak Sangryangmun」, the relation between the Koryeo 8 National Monks and Manduksa, the period and progress of the building of Palgugsagak in Manduksa, and verifies that the real author was Dasan Jeong Yak-yong. It contains content in praise of the 8 National Monks' cultural assets and the whole story while establishing Koryeo palgugsagak in Manduksa.Through the completion of the compilation of “Manduksaji” led by Dasan Jeong Yakyong, the existence of the Manduksa Koryeo 8 National Monks which had been forgotten was newly announced, and palgugsagag became a symbolic building declaring the new leap of Manduksa. Sangryangmun was a declaration that brought out the prestige of Manduksa as a historical seminary for the Buddhist priesthood both internally and externally.“Manduksaji” was written between 1813 and 1816, and in the following year, March 1817, Sangryangmun was written. Palgugsagak began to be built in February 1817 and was completed in May. The existence of the 8 National Monks was first made known by “Manduksaji”, and the writing of this book was conducted under the leadership of Dasan Jung Yak-yong.Sangryangmun is also said to be written by Cheolgyeong eungeon, and this study shows that it was written in the place of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong based on various grounds.
