한·홍 합작영화 ˂이국정원(異國情鴛)˃의 수용 연구

Abstract

1950년대 한국과 홍콩의 합작 영화에 대한 연구는 미미한 수준이다. 최근 대표작이라 할 수 있는 <이국정원(異國情鴛)>이 2011년 발굴되어 비로소 본격적인 연구를 기대할 수 있는 상황이 되었다.이 논문은 해방 후 처음으로 외국 영화사와 합작하여 만든 <이국정원>을 중심으로 1950년대 합작영화의 제작 배경, <이국정원>의 제작 및 상영에 관한 사실, 한국과 홍콩에서 이 영화가 어떻게 수용되었는지를 구체적으로 살폈다. 특히 한국연예주식회사와 홍콩의 소씨부자유한공사가 합작한 이 영화가 한국과 홍콩에서 어떠한 평가를 받았는지를 상호 수용적 측면에서 살펴보았다.이 영화는 홍콩에서 개봉 당시 한국 로케이션과 이스트먼 컬러의 활용 등이 관심을 끌었다. 반면 영화 스토리와 배우의 연기력에 대한 날카로운 비판을 받았다. 또한 한국에서는 컬러멜로드라마라는 장르의 선호, 홍콩과 마카오 로케이션에 대한 호기심이 흥행의 주된 요인이었다. 그러나 영화내용상 소씨부자유한공사와 과도한 타협을 하였기에 한국영화인들은 불만을 가졌고 합작이란 해외 진출 방식에 대한 우려를 나타냈다.The research of the Korea-Hong Kong Collaboration movie in 1950s was insignificant. Especially, the research of the part is still in the early stage because of the film of major work <Love with an Alien> has recently been discovered.This article is based on the foreign movie company collaboration movie <Love with an Alien>. It is an analysis about the production background of collaboration movie in 1950s, the facts on the production and screening of <Love with an Alien> and the movie was how to be admitted in Korea and Hong Kong. Especially, the author will check whether peoples just focus on the box office or not and the Evaluation of this collaboration movie in Korea and Hong Kong by movie critics thought the related materials.The fact is that this movie not only drew lots of attention with Korean location and application of Eastman color, but also be criticized for the story and the acting of actors from the Hong Kong movie critics. The preference of the Korean melodrama and the curiosity of the Hong Kong and Macao location are the main cause of the box office. But Korean movie makers still had dissatisfaction with excessive compromises of film contents to Shaw Brothers and afraid of the way of overseas expansion of movie.
