학교 변화와 독서 교육

Abstract

이 연구는 독서 교육의 의의와 변화 방향을 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 인공지능으로 대표되는 4차 산업 혁명에서도 알 수 있듯이 세상은 빠르게 변화하고 있다. 따라서 교육 역시 교육의 본질적인 가치를 유지하면서도 시대의 변화에 적응할 필요가 있으며, 이는 독서 교육에서도 마찬가지이다. 정보통신기술의 발달은 독서 생태계는 물론 텍스트의 성격, 독서 양태 등에 많은 변화를 가져왔다. 그러나 이러한 변화에도 불구하고 삶에 필요한 정보를 탐색하고 종합하는 독서의 본질적인 가치는 변함이 없다. 독서는 지식을 얻기 위한 독서, 교양을 위한 독서, 삶의 문제 해결을 위한 독서로 나눌 수 있다. 지금까지 학교에서의 독서는 지식을 위한 독서, 교양을 위한 독서를 중심으로 교육해왔다. 그러나 이제는 독서 자료에서 관련 정보를 찾아나가는 확산적인 독서, 그래서 독자가 스스로 문제를 제기하고 풀어나가는 삶을 위한 독서를 교육해야 한다. 삶을 위한 독서는 독서의 실제성 확보와 맥락화를 가능하게 하고 독자의 비판적 문식성을 기르는 데에도 도움이 된다. 특히 특정 세력의 이데올로기에 선동 당하지 않고 합리적인 판단을 내리는 것은 민주시민이 갖추어야 할 중요한 능력이며, 비판적 문식성은 사회 변혁적 독서의 전제가 된다는 점에서 삶을 위한 독서 교육이 중요하다고 하겠다.The purpose of this study is to examine the significance of reading education and its direction. As the fourth industrial revolution represented by artificial intelligence shows, the world is changing rapidly. Thus, education also needs to adapt to changes in the times while maintaining the essential value of education, and this is also true in reading education. The development of information and communication technology has changed not only the reading ecosystem, but also the nature of the text and the reading style. Despite these changes, however, the intrinsic value of reading comprehension and synthesis of information for life remains unchanged. Reading can be divided into reading for knowledge, reading for cultural books, and reading for solving life problems. Until now, reading at school has been centered on reading for knowledge and reading for cultural books. Now, however, you have to educate your readers to read and write their own problems and solve them. Reading for life makes it possible to acquire actuality and context of reading, and also helps to raise the critical literacy of the reader. In particular, it is important for democratic citizens to make reasonable judgments without being instigated by the ideologies of certain powers. Reading literacy for life is important because critical literacy is the premise of social transformational reading.
