현대 춤 여성 안무가 작품 성향

Abstract

본 연구는 현대 춤 여성 안무가의 작품 성향과 안무가들의 창작활동 경향과 작품의도, 내용 및 안무과정을 분석함으로서 현대 춤의 흐름 속에서 여성 안무가들의 작품 성향에 대해서 알아보고자 한다. 오늘날 현대 춤의 흐름과 발전에 있어 여성 안무가들이 미친 영향력과 그 안에서 뿜어내고 있는 자신만의 색깔을 중점적으로 파악하고자 하며 좀 더 진보적인 예술세계로 나아갈 수 있는 자료를 제공하고자 한다. 따라서 본 연구는 현대 춤 여성 안무가들의 창작활동 및 작품 성향을 1980년대부터 2010년대까지 시대별로 살펴보고 현대 춤이라는 장르 안에서 성장해 온 여성 안무가들의 작품 성향에 대해 연구하는 것에 목적이 있다. 현대 춤 여성 안무가들은 시대의 흐름에 따라 자신만의 색깔과 철학, 정체성을 구축해왔으며 본 연구의 작가별 주요 특징을 고찰해보자면 다음과 같다. 이윤경은 변이와 확장, 집중력을 선보이며 여성만이 가지고 있는 내면적 아름다움과 섬세한 감정을 바탕으로 하는 작품 성향을 지녔다. 주로 ‘몸의 전통성’에 대해 핵심적으로 다루는 그의 대표작으로는 <홀로 아리랑>을 설정하였으며, 본인의 삶에 빗대어 여성의 삶에 대해 표현하였다. 차진엽은 젠더와 권력 등의 문제의식을 가지고, 무용과 타 장르와의 결합을 통해 형식을 파괴하는 퍼포먼스로 주목받고 있는 안무가이다. 대표작으로는 <미인 : MIIN - Body to body>를 설정하였다. 과거에서부터 현재까지 미(美)에 대한 인식이 어떻게 변화되어왔는지 탐색하며, 물리적, 심리적, 공감적으로 몸에 접근함으로써 다양한 형태로서의 몸을 재발견했으며, 또한 ‘여성’이라는 일관된 고리에 연결 지은 작품으로 여혐, 비혼주의와 같은 사회 이슈를 다루며 여성의 관점이 더욱 풍부하게 표현하였다. 이 작품들을 통해 안무가들의 안무성향과 움직임의 특성이 시대의 흐름에 따라 변화된 여성 안무가의 특징을 잘 파악할 수 있을 거라 예상되며, 여성 안무가들의 작품 성향 비교분석에 대한 예시가 될 것이다. 여성 안무가 작품 성향에 있어서 종교적인 가치관과 철학, 한국적 소재, 여성성 등을 작품에 반영한 여성 안무가들의 실험정신은 무용계가 춤의 본질에 대해 고찰할 수 있는 계기를 마련하였다고 보며, 현대 춤의 표현양식이 어떻게 변화, 진행되고 있는지를 탐색하고, 향후 현대 춤 여성 안무가가 나아가야 할 방향성을 제시할 것이라 기대해본다.; The purpose of this study is to analyze the tendencies of the works and creative activities of modern female choreographers, work intentions, content and the process of choreography and to understand the characteristics and tendencies of their works in the context of modern dance. This study will focus on understanding the influence of female choreographers and their unique colors and identities throughout the development process of modern dance and to provide data that help further expand and advance the world of art. Against this backdrop, this study aims to investigate the creative activities and work tendencies of contemporary female choreographers during the period between the 1980s and the 2010s, and to study the tendencies on the dance works of female choreographers who have grown in the genre of modern dance. Modern female choreographers have built their own colors, philosophies and identities with the flow of the times and this study has found some major characteristics on a number of distinguished choreographers. First, Lee Yoon-gyeong tends to express the inner beauty and delicate feelings of women while introducing variations, extensions, and concentrations. A case in point is one of her iconic works titled <Holo Arirang>, which expresses the life of a woman reflecting her own. Second, Cha Jin-yeop is a choreographer well-known for her radical performance that destroys the established formality through a combination of dance and other genres with critical mind on such controversial issues as gender and power. Her iconic work is set to <Beautiful woman:MIIN - Body to body>. It explores how the perception of beauty has changed from the past to the present, rediscovers the body in various forms by approaching the body physically, psychologically, and sympathetically, and is linked to the consistent hook of 'women', deals with a number of controversial social issues, including hatred for women and non-marriages and richly expressing women's perspectives. These works are expected to allow audience to understand the characteristics of female choreographers whose choreographic tendencies and movements have changed with the flow of the times and to serve as an example for a comparative analysis of works of female choreographers. The experimental spirit of female choreographers who have incorporated religious values and philosophies, local Korean subjects, and femininity into their works is deemed to serve as an opportunity to for the world of dance to examine the essence of dance, to explore how the form of expression of modern dances has changed and progressed and to present a direction for modern female choreographers to seek in the future.
