This study want to provide the broad perspective on the discourse of technology in the 1950-60's Korean architecture. In order to accomplish this objective, we would like to propose 3 processes of study as follows; 1) It's important to put Korean architects and structural experts in the central place of technological discourse, because they were the first Koreans who searched for the optimal possibilities in introducing the advanced technology of western countries. 2) By shedding lights on the material conditions in the 1950-60's including production of architectural materials, the capability of construction, and economy, we will make clear the gap which existed between ideas and reality. 3) Taking into consideration the interaction between architects and material condition, we will reveal the outline of technological discourse in the 1950-60's Korean architecture.en_US
