dc.description.abstractThe construction industry has coped slowly with the changes followed by the technology of robotics and IT so far, which is different from other industries. This is because the construction industry consists of unfixed time and place, not repetitive construction process, and labor intensive production structure. Recently, the construction industry is trying to use high IT technology to manage the construction effectively, to increase the productiveness, and to strengthen the competitiveness because of the external factors such as increase of raw material prices, higher labor costs, and a shortage of labor. A study of "Automation for constructing the structures of a high-rise building based on the robotic crane" is also for grafting IT, mechanization, and automation of the construction industry, in which several universities and construction companies participate supported by the Ministry of Land, Transport, and Maritime Affairs. One of the parts in this study is a research called developing the real-time monitoring system. This is a system that sends the information about material supplies, hauling heavy materials, installation, and construction procedure to the robots and the workers, since the hardware like a robot should be developed to automate the steel frame work, but the system to support is also required. Accordingly, this study is to establish the database to support the real- time monitoring system, which is essential for the steel frame work using the robotic crane, and to verify through a prototype.en_US
