Abstract
The goal of this research is to determine if elastic band and Swiss ball training can improve the health of middle aged women and to examine their effectiveness in health enhancement by studying the effects of elastic band and Swiss ball training on forty-three middle aged women who participated in the training for twelve weeks in two separate groups of the exercise group (29 people) and the control group (14 people). The results are as follows. First, both groups showed significant change in weight, skeletal muscle mass, body fat, and BMI between before and after workout. however, there was significant difference in weight, body fat and BMI before and after exercise for the control group, while the control group showed a statistically significant increase. Second, there was no significant difference in total cholesterol and blood glucose before and after exercise for the exercise group, there was significant difference(p<.01) on the factors of blood lipids as triglycerides, HDL-cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol before and after exercise for the exercise group. As shown above, elastic band and Swiss ball exercises showed positive effects on weight, skeletal muscle mass, body fat, BMI, triglycerides, HDL-cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol for middle aged women.
