In the fashion market with the biggest marketability in current condition, it is hard to have the competitiveness without originality and differentiated design as the culture of the world is shared around the world. Therefore, the fashion product should ensure the competitiveness in the global market through high added value fashion products by renewing the perception as the cultural fashion product and having original images. Many popular designs in the world use original patterns of their own country in the international market to show off their originality. This is becoming universal to upgrade the fashion and images of that country beyond the dimension of cultural fashion products. Therefore, the objective of this study is to establish traditional Korean embroidery patterns onto a design DB fora plan to develop the high added value fashion product. Also, the hand crafted traditional embroidery patterns that show diligence and craftsmanship of Korean people with a long history are used to propose the design contents of the high added value fashion product. The process of establishing the design DB using Korean traditional embroidery pattern is as following: First, to establish a design DB, the preparation for the design development was conducted through collecting and analyzing the data on traditional embroidery patterns and the Korean traditional embroidery patterns, i.e. animal patterns, plants patterns, Gilsanguh patterns, and geometric patterns, were reconstructed as a pattern that matches modern sensibility and the time. In addition, by extracting design resources through each traditional embroidery image and providing design patterns, the Korean traditional embroidery patterns are made to support the utilization as the fashion product designs and search related information. Each original images of animal patterns, plant patterns, Gilsanguh patterns and geometric patterns were graphed by creating new paths using the Illustrator program and established the design DB by consisting pattern design through making corrections on each shape. Although the patterns of Korean traditional embroidery hold its significance as the pattern itself, in the modern age, it is a design element as means to experience our culture. If these Korean traditional embroidery patterns are restructured as the pattern that matches the sensibility and the time of the modern people and recognized as Korea to many people, the usability as a design contents to develop as a high added value fashion product is high with high expectation values. Moreover, much attention from the academics and industries is desperately in need to make a high added value fashion product informing Korea in small and big events around the world including Korea by proposing the pattern designs that expressed the original Korean images along with the flow of globalization and making applications on various fashion products. There should be further studies, analysis and development on the design DB from many aspects.en_US
