Abstract
The current study presents rotordynamic analysis of a gas bearing supported rotor coupled with a high speed motor. The rotordynamic model consists of a rotor (115mm length and 22.98mm diameter) supported on gas bearings, a 10 kW motor (top speed 100 krpm) supported on angular contact ball bearings with squeeze film damper, and a flexible coupling (2.0 Nm of rated torque and with 4421 N/m of lateral stiffness).
