Abstract
This paper proposes a non-linearity preprocessor with the optimal threshold that maximizes power ratios between a received signal and noise in the application of cooperative diversity systems when fading channel and impulsive noise are present, where the threshold is updated only by average channel power instead of instantaneous channel state for low complexity. The proposed preprocessor is strongly attractive, because the threshold is dependent on average channel power unlike the existing preprocessor frequently updated by instantaneous channel information. Simulation results show that error performance of the proposed preprocessor is as good as that of the ideal preprocessor updated by instantaneous channel information.
