As new products and services emerge through technological convergence, the number of arguments regarding technological convergence has been increasing. In particular technology convergence actively occurs in knowledge-intensive ICT. However, empirically verified cases that show the importance of technological convergence in ICT are still rare. Therefore, in this study, we examined the current ICT convergence status by analyzing technology that has been used in patent data, and empirically analyzed how effectively ICT is utilized for other innovative industries. For this analysis, we collected data by conducting random sampling of patent data from 2000 to 2012 in Korea, with 5,000 data per year Furthermore, we compared and analyzed the status of technological convergence in the U.S. and Korea by collecting U.S. patent data from 2010 to 2012.en_US
