한국 문학에서 나타난 다문화적 사유와 타자의 양상 연구

Abstract

다문화 현상은 전 지구적으로 확산되고 있다. 단일민족으로 지내온 한국은 '글로벌화'와 '다양성'을 표방하지만 아직도 다양한 인종이나 문화가 공존하는 다문화 현상에 대해 부정적이고 비판적인 시선으로 바라보는 현상이 존재한다. 탈출자들이나 이주 노동자들은 자신과 가족의 유토피아를 찾기 위해 탈국경을 한다. 그러나 그들은 예상치 못한 갈등과 사건을 겪으며 타자적인 삶을 살게 된다. 본고는 이를 문제시하여 강영숙의 장편 소설 󰡔리나󰡕를 중심으로 리나의 디아스포라적인 삶을 통해서 다문화 사회의 문제점과 가능성을 제시하고자 한다. 리나를 탈북자라는 관점에서 벗어나 더 광범위한 공간에 놓고 관찰해 보려고 한다. 소설에서 나타난 사건을 통해 크게 다문화 사회의 발전 과정에서 드러난 왜곡된 자본주의의 질서와 유랑 과정에 나타난 학대와 착취 등 불평등한 현상을 다루고 유린과 억압을 받는 탈출자를 통해 드러낸 유동적이고 혼종적인 양상을 다루는 두 가지의 방향으로 전개하고 있다. 또한 리나의 끊임없는 탈국경 과정에서 드러난 공포, 불안 등의 감정과 부조리한 억압에 대한 저항을 재현하고 새로운 연대 및 소통의 가능성을 제시한다. 리나와 소설 중 나타난 인물을 통해 주류사회에 편입되지 못하여 사회의 주변부에서 기본적인 인권을 보장받지 못한 채 살아가는 사회적 약자, 소수자, 주변인의 모습을 비추고 21세기의 다문화 사회에서 사람들이 타자를 중심으로 하는 다문화적인 사유를 지향하고 타자들에 대한 배려와 관심을 일으키려고 한다. 또한, 타인종, 타민족, 타문화의 다양성을 그대로 인정하고 그들과 함께 새로운 문화를 만들어갈 수 있도록 사회적 인식을 형성해야 한다.; The multicultural phenomenon is spreading all over the world. Korea has been a racially homogeneous nation that claims to stand for 'globalization' and 'cultural diversity', While people still take a negative and critical view of the multicultural phenomenon with different races and cultures. Defectors and migrant workers are crossing the border to find the Utopia for themselves and their families. However, they have been going through unexpected conflicts and accidents so that they live lives of Others. This thesis will bring the issue into question and present the problems and the possibilities of the multicultural society through Rina’s diaspora based life, concentrating on the novel of Kang Youngsook’s <Rina>. Try to get out of the perspective of Lina’s North Korean defector identity and to observe it with a wider point of view. This thesis can be divided into two directions largely based on the plot of the novel. One is to deal with the distorted capitalist order that be exposed in the developing process of multicultural society, and unequal phenomena like abuse and exploitation that have shown in Rina’s nomadic life. The thesis will also reappear the emotion such as fear and anxiety, the resistance of irrational oppression, which have been revealed in Rina’s endless wander, furthermore, this dissertation will find out the new solidarity and the possibility of the communication. Through the characters appearing in the novel to show the aspect of people who living in the periphery of society without guarantee of basic human rights, such as underdogs, minorities and marginal man. In the multicultural society of 21st century, people should aim for the multicultural thinking with other centered, raise consideration and attention to others. In addition, social awareness should be formed to recognize the diversity of other races, people and cultures, then create new cultures together.
